Yedioth Ahronoth: Israel is preparing for a new escalation with the Gaza Strip

The Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth said on Tuesday that the Israeli army is preparing for the possibility of a new escalation on the Gaza Strip front, after the resumption of the “return marches” along the Gaza border, and a return to what it described as “riots” by burning rubber tires, throwing stones, and throwing explosives. Which has so far prompted Israel to close the Beit Hanoun “Erez” checkpoint to workers.

According to the Hebrew newspaper, Israel fears that Hamas will later allow rockets to be launched from the Gaza Strip towards nearby settlements.

Sources in the Israeli army estimate that Hamas allows these events on the border, but does not initiate them, and the size of those participating in them is estimated at 100 to 200 young people, indicating that the numbers are not as large as at the beginning of the “return marches,” which stopped about 3 years ago.

Despite these estimates, the Israeli army still considers Hamas responsible for the current events, because it turns a blind eye to them.

According to the newspaper, the Israeli army is preparing to escalate its responses, beyond closing the Erez crossing or attacking empty Hamas positions on the border, and this may prompt a greater escalation.

The newspaper indicated that if these events continue and worsen, the Gaza Division of the Israeli army is prepared for more options, including a scenario related to the participation of the largest possible number of Palestinians in the marches, in addition to placing more engineering barriers and sensors to create a larger and relatively safe buffer zone on the border. For soldiers dealing with those disorders.

Blinken calls, during meeting with Chinese Vice President, to manage tensions with Beijing “responsibly.”

  1. US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken called on Monday for managing tensions with China “responsibly,” during his meeting with Chinese Vice President Han Jing in the second high-level talks between the two superpowers within days.

  2. When meeting with the Chinese Vice President in New York on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, Blinken expressed his belief that “face-to-face diplomacy” is capable of resolving differences.

  3. “I think it is good that we have this opportunity to build on the high-level interactions that recently took place between our two countries,” Blinken told the Chinese Vice President when the meeting began at the headquarters of the Chinese mission to the United Nations.

  4. He added that the talks aim to "make sure to keep communication channels open and demonstrate that we are responsibly managing the relationship between our two countries."
The talks come as the United States closely follows the change of officials in decision-making circles in Beijing.

  5. Foreign Minister Qin Gang, who was personally chosen by President Xi Jinping to hold the position, was replaced by Wang Yi.

  6. American officials initially expected Wang to go to the annual United Nations meeting, where he could meet briefly with US President Joe Biden, but China said that the less well-known Han would attend.

  7. But Wang, who is also director of foreign policy for the Communist Party, held talks last weekend in Malta with US National Security Advisor Jake Salvian.

  8. The United States and China are on opposite sides of a number of issues, especially the issue of autonomous Taiwan, which China seeks to return to its control, not ruling out the use of force to achieve this goal.

  9. China accuses the United States of inciting supporters of Taiwanese independence, and has recently intensified its military maneuvers around the island.
For its part, the United States says it seeks to maintain the status quo, noting that Washington has strengthened its support for the island, and last month approved direct military assistance to Taiwan for the first time.

  10. Restrictions imposed by Washington on American investments and the export of semiconductors angered Beijing, and the United States justified the measure as protecting its national security.

  11. But things seem to be moving towards containing the differences, as Blinken and US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen visited Beijing this year, to resume communication that was interrupted during the pandemic.

  12. The American approach towards China is contradictory to that adopted towards Moscow, as Washington has mostly rejected dialogue with Russia since its forces began invading Ukraine, with Blinken and other American officials questioning the feasibility of talks with the Russians.

Our people will not surrender

Al-Quds op-ed

Al-Quds op-ed

The occupying state, especially the current government of Benjamin Netanyahu, which is one of the most extremist, racist, and hostile occupation governments to the Palestinians in particular and the Arabs in general, believes that its aggressive practices against our people will make them surrender and raise the white flag, and that it can resolve the conflict in its favor, liquidate the Palestinian issue, and make the remaining Palestinians in Palestine a powerless minority. There is no power, after the largest number of them were deported in a massive process of ethnic cleansing, waiting for the opportunity or opportunities to implement this matter.

However, the occupying state and its current government are ignorant that our people, who have made huge sacrifices on the altar of their national cause, are prepared to make more of these sacrifices until they fully realize their inalienable national rights to return, self-determination, and establish their independent state with full sovereignty over their national territory, which they will not give up, no matter how powerful the occupation is. And his tyranny and the herds of settlers.

The greatest evidence of this is that the more the practices, violations and crimes of the occupation forces and herds of settlers increase, the more our people will not be calm. On the contrary, such crimes increase their determination to continue their national journey until they achieve their freedom and independence and defeat the occupation from the land of our fathers and grandfathers.

For example, during the past few hours, the occupation forces and herds of settlers were targeted in three shooting operations, in response to the crimes of the occupation and the countless atrocities it commits against our people, their land, and their sanctities, and in full view of the world, which does nothing except issuing statements of denunciation and denunciation. Which no longer means anything to the occupying state as long as the United States of America and many Western countries with a colonial past stand by it and prevent it from being punished in international forums and global courts, especially the war crimes court, after these countries contributed to establishing the occupying state at the expense and destruction of our people who Half of it still lives in refugee camps in several Arab countries, along with many of our people dispersed around the world awaiting their return to their homeland, Palestine, after defeating the brutal occupation, whether long or short.

Every action has a reaction equal to it in magnitude and opposite to it in direction, and the crimes and violations of the occupation will not go unnoticed, as the occupation believes, which is the main reason for the tragedies and woes the Palestinian territories are witnessing, which portends a widespread explosion, especially since the situation in the West Bank. Including East Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip, it is boiling like a cauldron, and the big explosion is inevitably coming. This is also expected by Jewish writers and analysts, despite their hostility to our people, their bias towards the brutal occupation, and their defense of the occupation’s practices.

If the occupying state wants calm for the region in general and in the Palestinian territories in particular, it must recognize the inalienable national rights of our people and leave their land, because this is the only solution to prevent the explosion that has become imminent, and its manifestations are clearly visible through what is happening in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip in terms of responses to the evils of the occupation. Including attempts to Judaize Al-Aqsa Al-Sharif and Jerusalem and falsifying history and facts, with the occupation thinking that this will pass without obstacles or confrontation with our people who have not and will not surrender, and that the occupation is doomed to disappear. This is a historical inevitability proven by the facts of the countries that were colonized and the struggle of their peoples led to their elimination. From colonialism, to live a free and dignified life like other peoples of the world, and this is what our people will achieve as they continue their journey towards achieving complete freedom and independence.

Trade unions in many countries support a boycott of the occupation

Lawyer Ali Abu Hilal

Lawyer Ali Abu Hilal

Opinion Writer

The efforts of human rights, professional and labor unions continue in various countries of the world to stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people and support their legitimate national struggle, in order to liberate their homeland from the Israeli occupation, and to extract their national rights to return, independence and the right to self-determination, and in order to impose a boycott on the Israeli occupying state and the separation regime. Racism and apartheid, which it works to embody in the occupied Palestinian territories.

In this context, the Trade Union Confederation (TUC) in England and Wales, which includes 5.5 million members from 48 unions, last Thursday 9/14/2023, issued a resolution confirming its commitment to supporting the Palestinian struggle for freedom, including supporting the right to boycott. . The resolution stressed the necessity of rejecting any attempt to delegitimize the Palestinian call to boycott Israel, withdraw investments from it, and impose sanctions on it (BDS), and deprive the Palestinians of the right to appeal to people of conscience around the world for support.

The trade unions in Britain and Wales announced their support for the boycott of Israel, through a proposal submitted by the National Education Union at the Trade Union Conference in Liverpool condemning the occupation’s oppression of the Palestinian people and calling for support for the “Right to Boycott” coalition. The proposal called for political opposition to the anti-boycott draft law on economic activity for public bodies that had begun to be scrutinized for approval, and in that the proposal noted that “if the law is passed in Parliament, it will make it difficult to boycott Israel.”

The British government had submitted a draft law last June, prohibiting state institutions and bodies from boycotting the Israeli occupation in any way under the pretext of “inciting societal tensions and anti-Semitism,” which sparked the anger of British activists and organizations supporting the Palestinian cause. Under the draft law, “publicly funded state institutions will be subject to legal accountability and will face large fines if they respond to boycott and divestment campaigns against foreign countries and territories,” including the Israeli occupation.

The justifications for the resolution issued by the Trade Union Confederation (TUC) stated: “We do not accept violence against innocent civilians or other human rights violations by one of the parties to the conflict. The resolution calls on the union to support the use of BDS methods in order to strike the economic sectors from which Israel benefits. It will also support a boycott This is the case until Israel stops building settlements in the occupied territories and enters into negotiations in a good atmosphere with the Palestinians with the aim of achieving the establishment of a Palestinian state with regional contiguity and true sovereignty.”

The union said, "Despite the success of Canada and other countries in ensuring respect for human rights in the past by imposing economic and political sanctions, as happened against the apartheid regime in South Africa, the Liberal and Conservative parties have recently approved a draft condemning Canadians' attempts to promote the movement." Boycott Israel.

The largest labor union in Canada, which has more than 310,000 members from various sectors, and is one of the most influential unions in Canadian political life, adopted a decision to boycott Israel in September 2017 at the “Unifor” conference, which was held under the slogan “Solidarity for a better world, at its annual conference held in the province of Manitoba. The union’s decision stipulated its support for the “Boycott Israel Movement” (BDS) until Israel stops its colonial-settlement expansion in the occupied Palestinian territories that began in 1967.” It also The resolution stated opposition to all efforts aimed at criminalizing, prohibiting, or undermining forms of expression and support for the BDS movement.

The success of the Federation of British and Welsh Trade Unions, and before it the Federation of Trade Unions in Canada, in issuing decisions to support a boycott of the Israeli occupation state, despite the attempts made by the official and governmental institutions in the two countries to issue laws and legislation that prevent this, is considered a great success for the movement. The boycott and its right to express democratic expression in demanding the imposition of the boycott on the occupying state, and this means supporting the struggle of the Palestinian people against the occupation and the apartheid system that it seeks to embody in the occupied Palestinian territories.

Also, the support of Unifor in Canada to boycott the Israeli occupation is “the best evidence of the failure of the efforts of the occupation government and its supporters to undermine the boycott movement, as the movement continues to expand and achieve distinguished successes around the world.” This important support from Canada “strengthens the steadfastness of our workers and confirms that solidarity With Palestinian workers, it means primarily boycotting the occupying state and its economy, which is based on destroying and besieging the Palestinian economy and depriving Palestinians of job opportunities in their homeland.”

It is noteworthy that global union solidarity was and remains one of the most important forms of support for the BDS movement. Many unions and national union federations around the world have announced their support for the boycott movement, including: the South African Trade Union Congress, the Central Trade Union Confederation in Brazil, the Irish Trade Union Congress, the United Kingdom Trade Union Congress, the Belgian General Confederation of Trade Unions, and the French trade unions. The General Federation of Trade Unions in Norway, the Canadian Postal Workers Union and others, and this in itself constitutes support for the Palestinian cause and the struggle of the Palestinian people against the occupation and the Israeli apartheid system in the occupied Palestinian territories.

Israel is eroding from within

Wajdi Azmi Gouda

Wajdi Azmi Gouda

Opinion Writer

Israel may appear strong from the outside because it possesses political, economic, and military technology, but at the same time it faces internal crises that affect its social and political fabric. All of this heralds a threat to its continuity and survival, as the political and socio-ideological division expanded after the judicial amendments recently proposed by Benjamin Netanyahu’s government, and increased the state of political instability. These amendments sparked controversy among segments of society, especially secularists, as their fears of strengthening this rule increased. The plan for religious coercion, and their concern about the Haredi followers assuming power in the state. This state of political instability, of which the extreme right is a part, as its supporters supported the judicial amendment plan, such as (abolishing reasonableness, the formation and structure of the Judicial Council, limiting the powers of the government’s judicial advisor...), as part of their duty towards Netanyahu’s camp, which fueled disputes in The Israeli street, and the confrontation began through demonstrations, a large part of which turned into violent actions that could lead to civil war.

The extreme right-wing religious parties took advantage of the state of political volatility in Israel, and formed the “Religious Zionism” coalition, which Netanyahu bet on to reach power again, as he relied mainly on the support of settlers in the West Bank and Jerusalem. How did the policy of extremism contribute to undermining the basics of the occupying state?

The "Religious Zionism" coalition, which in its ideology represents all Zionist movements within the occupying state, contributed to obstructing political stability after its successive rise to power, and obstructed the formation of governments because of the conditions it was setting, related to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, as it constitutes in its ideology the nucleus of incitement against the Palestinians. He is considered the first unconditional supporter of settlement, and a main instigator of the expulsion of the Palestinians from the so-called “Land of Israel,” and rejects any political settlement or sovereignty for the Palestinians on the land, as he has always sought to control the decision in the Israeli Knesset in order to prevent the voice of the Arabs from being heard, and to pass His colonial settlement plans and racist measures against the Palestinians inside the 1948 territories and the West Bank, as well as tightening the siege on the Gaza Strip.

The right-wing threat to Israel's interests

The leader of the "Jewish Power" movement, Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir, followed a path fraught with danger through a series of reckless decisions and statements harmful to the security and stability of Israel, the latest of which was his statement reducing visits to the families of prisoners to one visit every sixty days instead of thirty, which sparked a state of anger. And the tension inside the occupation prisons. After he showed great firmness in challenging the Prime Minister, Netanyahu forced Ben Gvir to postpone the implementation of his recent decisions against the prisoners until the meeting of the small political and security council (cabinet), which was held on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, and which came out with a decision to freeze the implementation of the reduction measure. Visits to families of prisoners.

For Ben Gvir, freezing this decision is considered surrender and submission, and a retreat in his recent position, especially amid popular concern over his transgressions and statements that the Israeli government considered controversial and irresponsible, due to the tension that these statements cause from time to time in the corridors of the cabinet, and the controversy that arises about Netanyahu’s powers. Ben Gvir is unique in his decisions without referring to anyone. In addition to that, the extreme right and its ministers are suffering under the burden of the American boycott, specifically Minister of National Security Ben Gvir due to his statements about the freedom of movement of Palestinians in the Palestinian territories, and Finance Minister Smotrich because of his economic policy towards the Palestinian Authority.

On the other hand, Ben Gvir is facing the anger of prisoners inside the prisons, and their constant threats to take escalatory steps to confront the ferocious attack he is leading against them, as the Supreme National Committee in the occupation prisons announced the implementation of an open hunger strike that was scheduled to begin in mid-September, in response to the measures taken. Ben Ghafir, the committee froze the hunger strike while maintaining a state of readiness and alert among the prisoners, in anticipation of any new arbitrary measures. The Israeli government believes that Ben Gvir is putting them in an unnecessary confrontation with the prisoners and the Palestinians as a whole, and increases the chance of the outbreak of an unjustified comprehensive confrontation, especially after the disparity in ideologies that the Israeli government is experiencing. We are no longer able to classify affiliations to the right or left in the current Knesset, as there is The liberal right, the conservative right, and the extreme religious right have many different positions toward Ben Gvir and his actions.

The harm is greater than the benefit

The plan for judicial changes and the draft conscription law aroused the ire of the Israeli army, which is the first line of defense for the state, causing the wave of protests to affect members of the permanent service after it directly affected members of the air and naval reserve forces, which exposed Netanyahu to harsh criticism from Likud due to the failure of his management of the crisis and the futility of the judicial amendments. And asked him to cancel it. The situation also turned into a confrontation between the government and the army after the organized attack on the Chief of Staff of the Israeli Army, Herzi Helvi, for his incompetence in controlling his soldiers, whose rebellion expanded. The arrival of the crisis in the army is an ominous omen for the occupying state, as it would undermine a basic pillar of the state. Its weakening would affect the army’s readiness and efficiency, and thus the outcome of its resolution of its external battles, whether with the Palestinian resistance in Gaza and the West Bank, or neighboring countries.

Protests are continuing at the popular, political, and army levels. In addition to inciting foreigners, especially African ones, against the government, this is a step in the right path. The crime rate in Arab societies is also increasing significantly, to the point that they are also raising their voices above the racist Israeli laws that endanger life. The Arabs inside are to be killed at any moment, and the extreme right is constantly raising problems, demanding that Israel be a national Jewish state without Arabs. These issues and other details raise constant concern that prevents political, security and social stability, and directly affects Israel’s interest as a fully sovereign state - according to their account. - The continuation of this instability may lead to a threat to its existence.

Major difficulties face the Biden administration's discussions with Saudi Arabia about normalization

Hani Akkad

Hani Akkad

Opinion Writer

For nearly two years now, the Badin administration has been making great efforts to reach the conclusion of an agreement through its mediation between Saudi Arabia and Israel stipulating the establishment of normalized relations that will prepare for the conclusion of economic, technological, military and security agreements. However, these efforts, despite their intensity and continuity, have not reached the level at which Pat can even open the agreement signing room. If there was a draft that would be a framework for an upcoming agreement, even though the broad outlines of the agreement were drawn up more than once and these lines changed with each round of discussions in an attempt to achieve a breakthrough that would enable the Biden administration to announce and sign the agreement. The Biden administration has spared no effort on this issue, but most of its discussions are focused on the Saudi side, as if it is working by proxy for the benefit of Israel and the Netanyahu government. Perhaps what is important for the Biden administration is to achieve this agreement and make it public before next March, that is, before the US presidential elections, as a deal that buys the votes of American Jews for the benefit of the Democratic Party, and thus Biden will enjoy a second term in office.

The difficulties obstructing the American effort are not caused by Saudi Arabia, but primarily by Israel, which wants a free normalization agreement without a political price to pay to end the conflict and achieve a just and comprehensive peace in the Arab region based on giving the Palestinians their rights through the occupying state’s recognition of the right to self-determination for the Palestinians, thus ending the brutal occupation and establishing the state. Palestine and its capital, Jerusalem. (Anthony Blinken), the US Secretary of State, recently made an important statement in which he talked about the possibility of normalizing relations between Saudi Arabia and Israel in the future. He came recently during a press conference with his German counterpart (Annalina Baerbock) and said, “Although I see that normalization is possible, this matter is in the offing.” “All conditions are not guaranteed.” Today, the Saudi newspaper Elaph reported that the American administration informed Israel that Saudi Arabia had stopped discussions to reach a normalization agreement with American mediation because of Netanyahu’s adherence to the right-wing position and his refusal to make any political concession to the Palestinians and Netanyahu’s commitment to the demands of extremist Yemen (Ben Gvir and Smotrich). This is what undermined any possibility of rapprochement with the Palestinians and thus the Saudis. .

All of this came on the eve of the end of a round of American-Saudi discussions with a Palestinian delegation that had visited Riyadh, headed by Mr. Hussein Al-Sheikh, Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, who held separate discussions with an American delegation headed by the Biden administration’s envoy for Middle East affairs, Bert McFork and Barbara. Leaf) Assistant Secretary of State (Anthony Blinken) in the region and other discussions with a high-ranking delegation from Saudi Arabia. The discussions ended without any statement to the media, not even a single word. It seems that the Palestinians and Saudis agreed on the same points that there will be no normalization agreement except after the full implementation of the Arab Peace Initiative. Its provisions remain unchanged, and Israel announces its acceptance of the principle of the two-state solution. The truth is that Saudi Arabia is the one that supported the Palestinian position and made the Palestinian position stronger on this issue. It left the ball in the Palestinians’ court when Saudi Arabia expressed its vision on this issue that it stands by the Palestinian rights in full and without compromise. When Saudi Arabia acts in this manner, it is acting as a central state that leads The Islamic world means that its Arab and Islamic standing is not shaken, so it insists on its firm position on the Palestinian issue that there will be no free normalization agreement without the occupying state recognizing the full rights of the Palestinian people and without Israel implementing the Arab Peace Initiative. I believe that the return of normalization talks with Washington will not happen until after Israeli willingness to make concessions that will convince Saudi Arabia.

The Payne administration does not want to put pressure on the Netanyahu government regarding the issue of resolving the conflict on the basis of the principle of the two-state solution and the Arab Peace Initiative, because one of the most important conditions for Netanyahu’s coalition and its cohesion is not accepting a Palestinian state in the West Bank and Jerusalem or ending or halting Zionist settlement in the West Bank. On the contrary, accelerating settlement and consecrating Annexation is one of the most important provisions of the agreement between Netanyahu and the religious blocs that make up Netanyahu’s government. This week, the US National Security Advisor (Jake Sullivan) announced that President Biden will meet Netanyahu in the White House in the first meeting between the two men, and here I say that this is an occasion in which Biden can soon open the file of concessions to the Palestinians if this file is of American interest, but I doubt it. The research may focus on the Iranian issue, as Netanyahu desires, as well as the war on terrorism. Netanyahu may go to divert American attention from the important issue of achieving peace in the Middle East and focus on Iranian threats and Israel’s fears after Iran expelled IAEA inspectors and removed them from Iranian territory, which disturbs America and Israel alike, and here Netanyahu may succeed in reducing the time available to discuss concessions. What do the Palestinians have in exchange for normalization, as well as the issue of judicial reforms in Israel that would confiscate democracy, which is the basis of the partnership between the two countries?

Great difficulties are facing the Biden administration, especially after Saudi Arabia announced the cessation of discussions on this issue, which means that the Democrats may lose the presidential elections because of Israel’s policy and its way of dealing with the conflict and its refusal to make concessions to achieve peace with the Palestinians and because of Netanyahu’s agreements with (Ben Gvir and Smotrich), and apparently The efforts of both US Secretary of State Blinken and National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan are facing a major wall of resistance that is difficult to overcome in two directions. The first is with the firm Saudi position, which does not care much about the normalization relationship that the Biden administration is trying to reach because the Kingdom, in its new policy, has opened the door to... His death was due to economic, security, political, military and oil relations with China and Russia. The second trend is the failure of the men of the American administration to persuade Netanyahu to agree to concessions to the Palestinians that would pave the way for a breakthrough in the issue of normalization. On the contrary, Anthony Blinken said that the Palestinians are raising their level of political ambition because of Saudi support and their failure to give up on fulfilling the provisions of the Arab Peace Initiative.

The conflict in the entity state rages over identity

Rasem Obaidat

The state of the entity described the meeting of the Supreme Court of Justice with its entire (15) judicial body on Tuesday 9/12/2023 as a historic day, and this session does not gain its importance from the convening of the court in its entirety only, but because it will discuss a basic law that was approved by the Knesset. The law reducing the argument of reasonableness, which greatly and directly affects the relationship between the Supreme Court of Justice, the Knesset, and the government, the court that met for thirteen hours, and which considered appeals to the law, presented by opposition legislators and oversight groups, in which they said that these judicial amendments upset the balance. Democratic controls are important and encourage the abuse of power.

While the government said in its legal response to the appeal that the Supreme Court does not even have the authority to review the “argument of reasonableness” law, which is part of the quasi-constitutional basic law, stressing that considering appeals could “lead to chaos.” In this regard, he said Minister of what is known as the fascist National Security, Ben Gvir, said that if “the Supreme Court abolishes the law of reasonableness, it will be an attempted coup,” stressing that “the Supreme Court is not above everything,” while his partner and twin, Finance Minister Smotrich, warned the court against abolishing the law, saying: Repealing the legislation would be tantamount to going beyond its limits. "No one has the power to repeal the laws of the people," he added.

Justice Minister Yariv Levin and Netanyahu, who have been leading the Judicial Amendments Bill since January of this year, want to control the judicial system and liberate the Knesset and the government from the control of the Supreme Court of Justice, which they consider to be the stronghold of the so-called left, which is politically biased, and originally the government coalition that Established between the extreme right and Jewish fascism, one of its main goals, Netanyahu and his coalition took control of the judiciary, security, and education systems.

Approving the law on the argument of reasonableness, and then approving the law changing the Judicial Appointment Committee, is a prelude to controlling the judicial system completely, which Netanyahu, Yariv Levin and their team say is that the goal of these reforms and amendments is to restore balance between the three authorities and strengthen democracy, while the opposition and oversight organizations see That this will transform the entity state into an authoritarian dictatorial entity, similar to the Iranian and North Korean regimes, as they described it. And that the goal of these alleged “reforms” is to change the parliamentary immunity law for members of the Knesset, ministers, and the prime minister, so that they do not face investigation or trial while holding their positions, that is, Enacting a law that would immunize Netanyahu and save him from trial. It would also enable the return of Aryeh Deri, the leader of the Shas movement, as a minister to the government, after the Supreme Court of Justice forced Netanyahu to dismiss him against the backdrop of a file of criminal charges against him.

These reforms also aim to abolish the “fraud and breach of trust” clause in the Criminal and Penal Code, so that the politician and government employee become a man above the law, and abolishing this clause will favor the personal interest of officials over the public good.

The conflict in the entity state is intensifying and deepening, and the divisions are increasing and expanding, reaching the security and military institutions, and the entity state is entering the stage of indecision and political exit, and the state of societal non-integration is also deepening, and therefore the issue of the struggle over judicial amendments is the trigger for these differences, conflicts and divisions, and if If the Supreme Court of Justice takes a decision to cancel the law “reducing the argument of reasonableness”, this may lead to a constitutional confrontation and chaos, and matters may reach the point of political assassination, and we must remember that these divisions and this conflict go back to November 1995, when Jewish fascism took hold. After the assassination of Rabin, that same fascism that brought Sharon and Netanyahu to power...this fascism today is moving from the edges of the Zionist project to its heart, and has become a major controller of the survival and fall of Israeli governments, and it is leading the conflict with the liberal Zionist forces over the identity of the state, an ideological and cultural conflict. It wants to transform the state into a state of Sharia law, “Halakhah.” This means that the occupying entity is facing major transformations. The Knesset no longer has control over the synagogue, nor does the state control the gang, nor does the army control the militia. Rather, these transformations are in light of what the former head of the entity, Rauf, said. Zivlin stated that four tribes share the entity: 38% secularists, 27% Arabs, 25% religious fundamentalist Jews, and 15% extremist Zionist Jews. The secularist bloc, in Zivlin’s opinion, gradually dissolves in favor of the increasing status of the two blocs of religious fundamentalists and extremist Zionists, that is, the synagogue group instead of the Knesset.

Yes, the entity state has its existential, structural, political and societal crises deepening in an unprecedented way... as well as the divisions it is experiencing, and the profound transformations taking place within it, despite what the entity’s Minister of War, Gallant, said to the mini-ministerial council about his hints at his entity’s responsibility for the raids launched by air force planes three years ago. Days on the Syrian coast - Tartous - and in the city of Hama, which killed two members of the Syrian army and injured a number of other soldiers and citizens. The roar of the entity’s planes was louder than anything else in the background, and that “deeds are what matters, not words.” But no. This means that the entity state is not obsessed with existential fear. It is moving to an entity in which the gang controls the state, the militia controls the army, and the synagogue controls the Knesset.

Hence, lawyer Ilan Baumbach, the government’s representative before the Supreme Court, directly attacked the Declaration of Independence, which established the entire Israeli identity, saying: “No one can believe that 37 people are not elected at all... and without their intention, and in their haste, They formulate a document for us in a hasty manner that we call a constitution that restricts all future generations.” This is nothing but confirmation that the basis of the dilemma and disagreement between supporters of judicial amendments and their opponents is nothing but a deep disagreement between a supporter of the current Israeli Zionist identity and a team seeking to formulate it anew according to its new vision.

In the midst of the Israeli political dispute and the ongoing protests for more than 8 months against the so-called judicial reform plan to weaken the judiciary, change the nature and identity of the occupying state, and undermine the status and powers of the Supreme Court, which is used as an instrument of control against the Palestinians, and implements the policy of the Israeli government.

The claim that this has affected the resilience of the Israelis, signs of the disintegration of the Jewish community, talk about the collapse of the judicial and economic institutions and apparatuses of the occupying state, the decline in the efficiency of the Israeli army and the capabilities of the air force, and other issues.

The occupying state is implementing a policy aimed at expelling the Palestinians and reducing the areas on which they live, in order to transfer the land into Jewish hands, through a long series of restrictions, harassment, and abuse practices against the residents of the Palestinian communities in the West Bank. Leaving their place of residence did not come out of nowhere. Rather, it is a direct result of the Israeli policy, which has always relied on this policy. The occupying state works diligently to make the lives of the Palestinians in the West Bank in general, and the residents of the communities in particular, miserable and bitter.

According to the report of the Israeli human rights organization B'Tselem, which was published today, Monday, it is being implemented in two parallel ways: The first method is made by military orders, legal advisors, and the Supreme Court. The occupying state itself expels the Palestinians from their lands. The second method, parallel to the first, is that the settlers practice terrorism against the Palestinians, with the help of the Israeli army, which provides support and protection to the settlers.

This policy led to the forced displacement of seven Palestinian communities, but many other communities throughout the West Bank continue to live in this reality of terrorism and violence by settlers and the Israeli army, and are exposed to the risk of immediate deportation at all times.

There is almost consensus on implementing these policies from the current government and successive governments towards the occupied Palestinian territories, and there is no impact to hinder the accelerating plans and policies to annex the West Bank and impose Jewish supremacy and sovereignty.

The occupying state continues to displace the Palestinians from their lands, continue the plunder of the Palestinian lands, and build more settlements, not only in the West Bank, but also in the Negev and Galilee to Judaize them. The implementation of the policies is supported and facilitated by the right-wing, racist, fascist coalition, and with the blessing of the Israeli democratic opposition, which is protesting the government’s judicial plan.

According to the decisive plan drawn up by Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, it is moving rapidly to subjugate the Palestinians and surrender them, or voluntarily deport them outside of Palestine. Targeting internal Palestinians with more racist laws and mass killing according to the fascist and racist plans and decisions of the Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben Gvir, against Palestinian prisoners.

For years, the occupying state has been taking a series of measures to make the lives of dozens of Palestinian communities across the West Bank miserable and bitter, with the aim of forcing their residents to leave their places of residence, to achieve its ambition to seize land.

Acts of violence carried out by settlers, which the occupying state uses as a tool to make the lives of residents of the communities more miserable. These acts have greatly worsened since the fascist far-right government came to power. In some places, terrorist acts by settlers have turned the lives of residents of the communities into a daily nightmare, and they have been deprived of From any possibility of living in dignity, even if it is minimal.

According to B'Tselem's report, the occupying state almost completely prohibits any construction or development work for Palestinians in Area C. This area constitutes about 60% of the area of the West Bank, and between 200 and 300 thousand Palestinians live there, thousands of whom are distributed among dozens of communities that earn their living from livestock herding and agriculture. In order to prevent Palestinians from building in this area. The occupying state defined about 60% of Area C as areas in which Palestinians are prohibited from building, by setting different legal definitions for large areas (sometimes overlapping with each other), “state lands”, about 35% of Area C, areas Military training (firing zones), about 30% of Area C, nature reserves and national parks, about 14% of Area C, or areas of influence affiliated with settlements, about 16% of Area C.

In fact, the policy of forced deportation of Palestinians from their areas of population is not just a daily occurrence, but rather a structure and an oppressive environment that forces residents to leave, and represents a war crime under international law. The occupying state prevents, under any circumstances, the expulsion of residents of occupied territories from their places of residence.

At a time when the Israeli opposition, and army officers, especially military pilots, express their concern about harming the Supreme Court, which constitutes immunity for them, and the fear of accelerating investigation procedures by the International Criminal Court in some files submitted to it, related to crimes committed in the Gaza Strip, or the file Settlement.

Despite some optimism on this issue, I do not see on the horizon that the Prosecutor of the Court has the ability to make bold and serious decisions to open an investigation, or to accuse the occupying state of practicing the policy of apartheid in the West Bank, or to accuse officials of committing war crimes in the West Bank. Israeli army. For many reasons, the court’s authority and ability to confront the United States and European countries, and to be complicit in supporting the occupying state, protecting it and helping it to escape punishment, exceeds it.

This is even if some files were moved, but in light of the talk about the Israeli-Saudi normalization deal, and what may be provided to the Palestinians, in terms of some crumbs and economic support, and the fear of a list of trading rights for promises, and the illusion of an empty political solution that does not recognize the rights of the Palestinians.

World Bank report: Israel measures affect Palestinian access to health care

Israel's restrictions and rising fiscal constraints in the Palestinian territories are severely impacting the economic conditions of Palestinians and hindering their access to timely life-saving healthcare, the World Bank said Monday.

In a report titled "Racing Against Time", the World Bank said that overall, the Palestinian economy was performing below potential, with per capita income expected to stagnate.

Poverty in the Palestinian territories was on the rise, with one out of four Palestinians living below the poverty line, the Washington-based global lender said.

Israel's restrictions on movement and trade in the occupied West Bank, the blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip and the divide between the two Palestinian territories were among several factors that had put the Palestinian economy at high risk, the report said.

"The fiscal constraints weigh heavily on the Palestinian health system and particularly on its ability to cope with the mounting burden of non-communicable diseases," Stefan Emblad, the World Bank's director for the West Bank and Gaza, said in a statement released with the report.

The restrictions, including "a lengthy, bureaucratic regime of permits", often makes it hard to provide timely life-saving healthcare to Palestinians, he said.

Access to outside medical referrals for treatment of cancers, heart diseases, and maternal and child birth conditions are significantly affected due to physical and administrative constraints, the statement said.

"The situation is particularly critical in Gaza, which suffers from a more limited health system capacity and where patients struggle to get needed medical exit permit applications on a timely basis," it said.

"Research figures show that the near-blockade of Gaza has had an impact on mortality, as some patients do not outlive the length of the permit process."

Thousands of Palestinians from the West Bank and Gaza Strip cross annually into Israel for medical treatment unavailable in the impoverished Palestinian territories.

Israel has occupied the West Bank -- now home to some three million Palestinians -- since the 1967 Six-Day War, when it also seized the Gaza Strip, the densely populated coastal enclave it has since withdrawn from.

Last year, Israel issued entry permits for more than 110,000 medical visits for West Bank residents, according to COGAT, the Israeli defence ministry body overseeing civilian affairs in the Palestinian territories.

More than 17,000 such permits were issued during the same period to Palestinians from Gaza, where 2.3 million people live.

An Israeli blockade imposed by Israel since the Islamist movement Hamas rose to power in 2007 has also obstructed medical supplies to the enclave.

The World Bank urged Israel and Palestinian authorities to better manage such medical cases and ease the permit process in a bid to provide timely healthcare assistance to patients and their companions.

Overall the Palestinian economy has been stagnating for the past five years, Emblad said, adding it was not expected to improve unless policies on the ground change.

"Given population growth trends, income per capita is thus expected to stagnate," the World Bank said.

Shtayyeh at UN SDG Summit: Sovereign Palestinian State is primordial for achieving development

Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh said that working to oblige Israel to end its occupation of Palestine in accordance with international resolutions and references is the responsibility of the entire international community, and establishing an independent Palestinian state is the most important condition for achieving sustainable development there.

In his speech at the Sustainable Development Goals Summit, at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, Shtayyeh stressed, “With the halfway point since the adoption of the Sustainable Development Agenda, we are still very far from achieving our goals by 2030, which requires us to work together to adopt practical measures to overcome... On the multiple crises we face.

He continued: “After half the period has passed since the implementation of the agenda, the Palestinian people are struggling to catch up with the global movement, in light of settler colonialism that controls the land, weakens the human being, controls the borders of the State of Palestine and its crossings, robs our people of its resources and capabilities, and practices everything that would undermine the opportunities of the State of Palestine.” Development in Palestine.

Shtayyeh said: “The plan to transform our world, adopted by the conference, affirmed that achieving sustainable development requires establishing peace and the sovereignty of states over their national wealth, natural resources and economic activities, and called for taking the necessary measures in accordance with international law in order to remove the obstacles that prevent the realization of the right to self-determination.” For the peoples suffering under the yoke of colonialism and foreign occupation, which continue to negatively affect their ability to achieve comprehensive development.”

He continued: "Despite the obstacles resulting from our reality under the Israeli occupation of the land of our state of Palestine, our government has established the necessary institutional arrangements to reach the goals of the sustainable development agenda."

He added: Palestine’s development priorities, which we are working on in accordance with the National Development Agenda 2024/2029, are to achieve comprehensive and sustainable economic growth by focusing on strengthening its production base, improving citizens’ ability to withstand crises, improving the quality of basic public services and reform, and enhancing the effectiveness of public institutions.

The Prime Minister said: “Our people will continue their struggle to achieve their independence in the coming years and achieve peace and sustainable development by the year 2030. But if Israel continues its occupation and its settlement and colonial measures towards land, people and money, and international aid declines, all of this will limit Palestine’s ability to fulfill its obligations to its citizens and its international commitments.”

Iran, US on verge of prisoner swap under Qatar-mediation

Qatar announced today (Monday) the start of implementation of a US-Iranian agreement brokered by it, with five Americans who were detained by Tehran heading to Qatar, the release of a number of Iranian detainees in Washington, and the transfer of Iranian assets to Doha.

The Minister of State in the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Khulaifi, said in statements to the Qatar News Agency (QNA) that five citizens of the United States of America were detained in the prisons of the Islamic Republic of Iran and are now on their way to Doha International Airport after they were released.

He added that the release of the Americans came in exchange for the release of a number of detainees from the Islamic Republic of Iran held by the United States of America as part of the agreement between the two countries on the exchange of detainees, which was mediated by the State of Qatar and announced on August 11 of last year.

He stated that as part of implementing the agreement, Iranian funds frozen in the Republic of Korea were transferred to Doha, indicating that his country would begin activating the humanitarian banking channel.

He expressed Doha's hope that the full implementation of this agreement between the United States and Iran would lead to greater understandings, including a return to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.

He considered that the implementation of this agreement is an indication of Qatar's position as a reliable international partner in the field of mediation, and the confidence of all parties in its integrity and impartiality. It also represents a new success that is added to the witnessed successes of Qatari diplomacy in a number of regional and international files, as he put it.

Al-Khulaifi reiterated his country's commitment to supporting all regional and international efforts aimed at achieving security and stability in the region.

The Qatari plane carrying five Americans who were detained by the Iranian authorities arrived in Doha, according to Al Jazeera satellite news channel.
