Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced this evening, Saturday, that Hamas has agreed to the proposed plan to end the war, confirming that he aims to conclude negotiations within a few days, revealing the objectives of the second phase, which includes the complete dismantling of the movement's weapons.
Netanyahu stated in remarks broadcast by Hebrew media: "Hamas is now entangled due to military and political pressure and has accepted the proposal we presented."
He added that he has issued immediate instructions to the negotiating team led by Ron Dermer to head to Egypt, affirming: "We want to conclude the negotiations within a few days."
Netanyahu set a decisive condition, saying: "In the second phase, we will dismantle Hamas's weapons, and the Gaza Strip will become weapon-free, either through an agreement or by military means."
He reviewed his political path during the crisis, revealing: "I faced significant pressure from within the occupation and outside to stop the war."
He attributed the change in course to his efforts with the U.S. administration, adding: "I coordinated with President Trump and his team on a political step that turned the situation around; instead of isolating the occupation, it is Hamas that is now isolated."
Netanyahu emphasized that he will not concede the declared objectives of the war, asserting that "all hostages, both alive and dead, will return with the army deep in the Gaza Strip."
