The Hebrew newspaper "Yedioth Ahronoth" described what happened during the eighty-first session of the United Nations General Assembly as a "harsh diplomatic defeat and unprecedented political decline" for the occupying government.
This shocking assessment from the Hebrew media comes in the wake of a wide wave of international support for the Palestinian cause, which culminated in the recognition of the State of Palestine by major Western countries.
The newspaper attributed this "decline" primarily to the French-Saudi conference held in New York, which sparked a new wave of recognitions of the State of Palestine by significant countries such as France, Britain, Canada, Spain, and Australia.
