Egypt confirms its openness to the deployment of international forces in Gaza by a decision from the Security Council.

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Atti confirmed on Thursday evening that his country is open to the idea of deploying international forces in the Gaza Strip, under a resolution from the United Nations Security Council, with the aim of assisting the Palestinian Authority in managing the sector.

Abdel Atti stated at a press conference in New York, regarding the international coalition for a two-state solution, which included foreign ministers from Arab and European countries such as Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Norway, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly meeting, that "we are open to deploying international forces in Gaza under a resolution from the United Nations Security Council to assist the Palestinian Authority in managing the sector."

He pointed out that "there is consensus on a temporary Palestinian administration for the sector without the participation of factions," but he did not provide further details on this matter.
