Luxembourg is moving towards recognizing the State of Palestine.

Luxembourg is expected to announce recognition of the State of Palestine during the eighty session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Luxembourg's Prime Minister Xavier Bettel and Foreign Minister Jean Asselborn announced their intention to officially recognize the State of Palestine.

This position comes after months of hesitation from the Luxembourg government, amid increasing calls from European leaders for clear stances on the Palestinian issue.
