Gaza.. The number of deaths from Israeli starvation rises to 422, including 145 children.

The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced on Sunday that the death toll from malnutrition resulting from the ongoing Israeli starvation policy for nearly two years has risen to 422 Palestinians, including 145 children.

The ministry stated in a statement that it recorded 'two deaths due to famine and malnutrition' in the past 24 hours.

It clarified that this raises the 'total deaths from malnutrition to 422 martyrs, including 145 children,' since October 7, 2023.

It noted that since the announcement by the 'Global Initiative on the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification' (IPC) of famine in Gaza last August, '144 deaths have been recorded, including 30 children.'

The organization announced, in a report on August 22, that 'famine has occurred in the city of Gaza (north),' and predicted that it 'would extend to the cities of Deir al-Balah (central) and Khan Younis (south) by the end of next September.'

Since March 2, Israel has closed all crossings leading to Gaza, preventing any humanitarian aid, plunging the region into famine despite the accumulation of relief trucks at its borders.

Israel sometimes allows a very limited amount of aid to enter, which does not meet the minimum needs of the starving and does not end the famine, especially as most trucks are subjected to looting by gangs that the Gaza government claims are protected by Israel.

With American support, Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, resulting in 64,803 deaths and 164,264 injuries among Palestinians, most of whom are children and women, along with hundreds of thousands of displaced persons, and famine that has claimed the lives of 422 Palestinians, including 145 children.

For decades, Israel has occupied Palestine and lands in Syria and Lebanon, refusing to withdraw and establish an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on the borders prior to the 1967 war.
