At least 22 American citizens have been killed since the start of Operation “Al-Aqsa Flood” against Israel on Saturday, a US State Department spokesman said on Wednesday.
The spokesman said, "We extend our deepest condolences to the victims and the families of all those affected."
On Tuesday, President Joe Biden said that the number of dead Americans was 14 citizens, stressing that there were Americans among the “prisoners of Hamas,” and that he directed his team to “coordinate with Israel to release them.”
Today, Wednesday, the US President said that the United States “continues to monitor the situation in Israel,” adding that he spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu earlier in the day. This is the fourth phone call between the two leaders in recent days.
