UNRWA calls for a ceasefire in Gaza and the allowance of aid entry.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) renewed its call on Thursday for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and for permission to deliver humanitarian aid.

UNRWA stated in a post on X platform, "Let us shift our focus in Gaza towards an immediate ceasefire and humanitarian aid."

Since March 2, Israel has closed the crossings leading to Gaza, preventing the entry of food supplies or humanitarian aid, which has plunged the region into famine despite relief trucks being piled up at its borders.

Israel sometimes allows the entry of very limited aid that does not end the famine, especially as most trucks are subjected to looting by gangs that the Gaza government claims are protected by Israel.

With U.S. support, Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, resulting in 65,062 martyrs and 165,697 injured, most of whom are children and women, and a famine that has claimed the lives of 432 Palestinians, including 146 children.
