The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) confirmed that the Gaza Strip is undergoing complete destruction, adding that the area is gradually turning into a barren land unfit for human habitation.
UNRWA pointed out that children are starving, families are being forcibly displaced, while residents are living in a state of extreme terror.
UNRWA's Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini revealed yesterday, Sunday, that Israel has bombed 10 agency buildings in Gaza City over the past four days, including 7 schools and 2 clinics that are currently being used as shelters for thousands of displaced people.
For days, the Israeli occupation has begun a gradual campaign of destruction of high-rise residential buildings in Gaza City, increasing the number of displaced families and pushing them into harsh displacement conditions, while observers warn that the goal is to forcibly push Palestinians southward, as part of a broader Israeli-American plan to expel them from the strip.
This was stated in a post by the UN organization on the X platform, quoting Lazzarini, which mentioned that there is no safe place or person in Gaza City and its north, where the intensity of airstrikes is increasing, forcing more Palestinians to flee into the unknown.
Commenting on the situation in Gaza City, Lazzarini said that the agency had to stop healthcare services in the Beach Camp, the only one available north of the Gaza Valley, while its vital water and sanitation services are now operating at only half capacity.
He noted that UNRWA teams, consisting of 11,000 members, continue to provide vital services in other parts of northern Gaza and the rest of the Gaza Strip.
Lazzarini emphasized that these teams are committed to serving their communities despite all difficulties, while living under extremely inhumane conditions.
Lazzarini concluded: How long will it take to take action to achieve an immediate ceasefire?
Systematic destruction and since yesterday morning, Sunday, the occupation army has destroyed 16 buildings in Gaza City, including 3 residential towers.
Israeli aircraft bombed the Unknown Soldier Tower and a residential building along with several neighboring buildings in Gaza City with high-explosive bombs, completely destroying them.
It is noteworthy that since August 11, the Israeli army has completely destroyed 1,600 towers and residential buildings in Gaza City, and severely damaged about 2,000 other towers and buildings, in addition to 13,000 tents, displacing more than 100,000 people who lived in those homes and tents, according to the media office.
With American support, Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, resulting in 64,871 martyrs and 164,610 injured Palestinians, most of whom are children and women, and hundreds of thousands of displaced people, with famine claiming the lives of 422 Palestinians, including 145 children.
For decades, Israel has occupied Palestine and lands in Syria and Lebanon, refusing to withdraw and establish an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on the borders prior to the 1967 war.
There is no safe place or person in Gaza City and its north, where the intensity of airstrikes is increasing.
