Dr. Bishara Domani has resigned from his position as President of Birzeit University .
Hanna Nasser, Chairman of the University's Board of Trustees, said in a press statement that Domani submitted his resignation, and it was accepted out of necessity due to his commitments to Brown University, in which he bears the name of the Mahmoud Darwish Chair.
It will become effective at the end of the current academic year at the end of July.
Hanna indicated that a new president will be named to lead the university, starting at the beginning of the next academic year.
Hanna praised Domani's tenure and the qualitative leap he brought about in the university.
