A French volunteer was killed in Ukraine a week ago, the country's foreign ministry announced Saturday, confirming information reported by Le Monde newspaper.
And the French newspaper reported that "a person named "T" died a week ago."
"We learned of the sad news. We offer our condolences to the family, with whom the relevant departments in the ministry are in contact," the French Foreign Ministry told AFP.
Last week, the department also reported the death of Kevin D. In Bakhmut, eastern Ukraine, a former humanitarian worker left more than a year ago to fight alongside Ukrainians.
"We recall that all of Ukraine's territory is a war zone. In this context, it is not officially recommended to travel to Ukraine for whatever reason," the ministry told AFP, repeating a recommendation it made last week.
A number of Frenchmen went to fight in Ukraine, but their number is not officially known, and Le Monde reported that eight of them were killed.
