Israeli shelling and airstrikes on southern Lebanon

A correspondent reported that the Israeli army launched a series of airstrikes today, Sunday, on several areas in southern Lebanon, with no reports of injuries.

The correspondent mentioned that the strikes targeted the Mideena plain in the towns of Kfar Rumman and Jarmak in the Nabatieh district.

The National News Agency of Lebanon stated that "the attacking aircraft dropped several air-to-ground missiles, causing explosions that created a tremendous noise echoing throughout the area."

Videos circulated on social media showed plumes of smoke rising from the bombing site, while there were no immediate reports of injuries.

In a related context, the agency reported that an Israeli drone targeted a house in the town of Houmine al-Fawqa in the Nabatieh district.

It is noteworthy that a ceasefire has been in effect between Hezbollah and Israel since November 27, 2024, but the Israeli army continues to carry out demolition and bombing operations in southern Lebanon and conducts near-daily airstrikes.

Israeli forces still occupy five Lebanese hills that they seized during the aggression that escalated into a wide-scale war on September 23, 2024, resulting in over 4,000 deaths and around 17,000 injuries.
