Civil Defense in Gaza City: People do not want to evacuate, but the occupation is pressuring them with fire.

The spokesperson for the Civil Defense in Gaza City, Mahmoud Basal, stated that the Israeli occupation is pressuring citizens in Gaza City with fire to force them to flee, despite their unwillingness to do so, describing their conditions as very harsh.

Basal confirmed that around 20,000 people have fled the city towards the southern Gaza Strip, noting that the occupation is using terrifying and frightening fire belts to compel citizens to leave the city.

He pointed out that he personally witnessed families returning from the central area back into Gaza City because they could not find a place or means of living, as there is no infrastructure or hospitals.

He denied the occupation's claims that the southern area of the strip is a humanitarian zone, stating that it is no different from the northern area, where Gazans in the south live under very harsh conditions.

Basal also highlighted the suffering of the displaced who left the city due to overcrowding and the poor condition of the vehicles they are using as a result of two years of war, as well as the deteriorating roads they are fleeing through.

The Israeli occupation army launched a series of violent airstrikes targeting the Tel al-Hawa neighborhood in the southwestern part of the city, continuing to demolish homes and residential buildings using explosive vehicles and robots in the northwest of the city.

According to Basal, the occupation army conducted a military operation in the Zeitoun neighborhood that lasted 27 days, during which it destroyed the city and completely wiped out its southern area.

He considered that what the occupation committed in the Zeitoun neighborhood is being repeated today in Tel al-Hawa, where the occupation is using robots intensively.
