Orthodox Jews opposed to the occupation organized a demonstration in New York City, protesting the participation of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly, which will begin next week.
According to Anadolu Agency, a group of Orthodox Jews launched a campaign through a website called "Israel Against Judaism," to hold a demonstration in front of the Israeli consulate building in Manhattan, New York.
It added that hundreds of Orthodox Jews gathered at the designated site, carrying signs with phrases such as "The number one enemy of the Jewish people is Netanyahu and Ben Gvir," "Anti-Zionism is not anti-Jewish," and "Stop forcing Jews to join the Zionist army."
The demonstrators also expressed their rejection of Netanyahu's upcoming visit to New York for the UN meetings, and they hung a large banner that read, "Netanyahu: You do not speak for us."
The agency quoted American anti-Zionist Rabbi David Feldman regarding Netanyahu's visit, saying, "He will mislead the world into thinking he represents all Jews and that the actions he commits are somehow acceptable within the Jewish religion."
Feldman added that everything Israel and Benjamin Netanyahu advocate "completely contradicts the Jewish religion and is a source of real shame for its followers."
He also described what is happening in Gaza as "unacceptable," expressing his deep sorrow over the practices of killing, looting, and crushing an entire people in Palestine.
With American support, the occupying state has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, resulting in 65,062 martyrs and 165,697 injured, most of whom are children and women, and famine that has claimed the lives of 432 Palestinians, including 146 children.
Everything Israel and Benjamin Netanyahu advocate completely contradicts the Jewish religion.
