A Palestinian dead in Ramallah and assaults by the army and settlers in Hebron

A Palestinian young man was martyred this evening, Saturday, in the city of Ramallah, succumbing to his injuries sustained days ago, while several Palestinians were injured due to being assaulted by settlers in the city of Hebron.

Sources reported that the young man, Muhammad Issa Alawi, was martyred as a result of the injuries he sustained days ago from the gunfire of settlers in the town of Deir Jarir, northeast of Ramallah in the West Bank.

Medical sources stated that the martyr was transferred to the Palestine Medical Complex after sustaining serious injuries, following the shooting of a group of young men by settlers near the road connecting Deir Jarir and Silwad.

Israeli occupation forces also stormed several towns in the Ramallah and Al-Bireh governorate on Saturday evening, including Bil'in, Beitunia, Al-Mughayer, Turmus Ayya, and Kafr Ni'ma.

The forces raided commercial shops in Beitunia, confiscated surveillance camera recordings, and snipers took positions on the rooftops of buildings.

Additionally, the occupation forces set up a military checkpoint at the entrance of the villages of Shuqba and Shabtin, searched vehicles, and checked the identities of citizens.

In other developments, several Palestinian citizens were injured, including a woman, and two others were arrested following assaults carried out by settlers under the protection of occupation forces on the villages of Al-Rakeez and Al-Tuwani in Masafer Yatta south of Hebron.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported three injuries due to direct assaults with stones and sticks, while a woman was transferred to Yatta Government Hospital for treatment.

A Palestinian elderly man, who previously suffered an amputation of his leg, was also injured after a new assault by settlers in the village of Al-Rakeez, and the occupation forces prevented ambulance crews from reaching him.

According to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, the month of August recorded more than 1,613 assaults on Palestinians and their properties in the West Bank, including 431 assaults carried out by settlers and 1,182 assaults committed by occupation forces, concentrated in the governorates of Ramallah, Nablus, and Hebron.

In parallel with the genocide against the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, at least 1,020 Palestinians have been martyred by the Israeli army and settlers in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, in addition to about 7,000 others injured, and more than 19,000 arrested, according to Palestinian data.
