A United Nations affairs expert stated that the issuance of a unanimous statement - within the Security Council - in solidarity with Qatar confirms the rejection of the Israeli aggression against an independent sovereign state.
The expert, Abdel Hamid Siam, explained in a statement that the statement emphasizes the necessity of standing with international law, as what occurred is a violation of the United Nations Charter.
Israel had launched an aggression against Qatar targeting a number of leaders of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) who were meeting to discuss a U.S. proposal to end the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip.
Although the political expert wished that the statement had been presidential rather than journalistic, Siam simultaneously welcomed the issuance of the statement with the unanimous agreement of all members, including the United States.
The United States has used its veto power 6 times to prevent the international council from condemning the genocide being committed by Israel in Gaza.
Members of the Security Council condemned - in a press statement - the recent attacks that took place in the Qatari capital and expressed their deep regret over the deaths of civilians.
The 15 member states of the council, including the United States, agreed on the statement, which did not mention Israel as the party that carried out the attacks.
The council members affirmed the importance of stopping the escalation and stressed their support for the sovereignty of the State of Qatar.
The UN affairs expert described what happened as 'a clear-cut aggression and a complete crime.'
He added, 'In this case, this aggression is called a major war crime, which is one of the four crimes upon which the International Criminal Court is based.'
