Israeli Occupation Blows Up Two Homes of a Palestinian Prisoner's Family in Hebron
The occupation forces continue to escalate their actions in the West Bank through demolition and explosion operations, in an attempt to impose their control over Palestinian lands and threaten the lives of prisoners and their families.
The Israeli occupation army blew up two homes belonging to the family of Palestinian prisoner Abdul Rahim Al-Haimouni in the Wadi Abu Katila neighborhood of Hebron early Thursday morning, after storming the city with a large force. Eyewitnesses reported that the occupation forces arrived in the neighborhood at midnight and began planting explosives in two residential apartments of a five-story building, before withdrawing the following morning. The occupation forces closed the surrounding roads throughout the preparation period, in a scene that reflects their ongoing escalation against the Palestinians.
In a related context, the occupation forces had stormed the city in large numbers, besieging the Al-Haimouni family home, and brought equipment typically used for demolishing homes, in an attempt to carry out the demolition order for the apartment where prisoner Al-Haimouni resides, who is suspected of participating in an attack targeting the light rail station in Tel Aviv, which resulted in the deaths of seven people and injuries to 15 others. This comes as part of the collective punishment policy adopted by the occupying state against the families of Palestinian prisoners, which is systematically repeated in the occupied West Bank.
Last March, the occupation carried out demolition operations on two other Palestinian homes, whose owners were accused by Israel of participating in resistance operations, as the Al-Qassam Brigades claimed responsibility for the heroic operation in Jaffa carried out by the two fighters Muhammad Rashid Mask and Ahmad Abdul Fattah Al-Haimouni from Hebron. These operations are part of a wide demolition and explosion campaign carried out by the occupation during July, targeting 122 Palestinian facilities, including 60 inhabited homes, in an attempt to subdue the Palestinian resistance and terrorize the population, amid the rise of popular resistance and guerrilla operations against the occupation and its settlers.
