The Executive Director of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), Catherine Russell, said that the scale and pace of destruction in the Gaza Strip is "shocking."
Russell confirmed on the “X” platform that “the Gaza war caused the death of more than 13,000 children and injured countless people.”
She pointed out that "the war caused the deaths of teachers, doctors and humanitarian workers."
The UN official called for a ceasefire in Gaza now and said that "homes, schools and hospitals are destroyed," warning that "famine in Gaza is imminent."
