Former White House Chief of Staff Reveals Tensions Within Trump's Administration

Former White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles revealed internal tensions in President Donald Trump's administration regarding issues from enforcing immigration laws to reducing government size.

In statements published by Vanity Fair magazine on Tuesday, Wiles, the first woman to hold the position of White House Chief of Staff, described the alcohol-abstaining president as having the personality of drinkers, with a tendency to retaliate against those he believes are enemies.

She also mentioned that Vice President JD Vance 'has been a conspiracy theorist for a decade' and described his shift from criticizing Trump to supporting him as 'somewhat political' and driven by his Senate campaign rather than principles.

She criticized the way billionaire Elon Musk dismantled the U.S. Agency for International Development and the way Attorney General Pam Bondi initially responded to the planned release of files related to Jeffrey Epstein, convicted in sexual offenses.

During the interviews, Wiles also said she warned Trump against pardoning the most violent participants in the January 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol building, the seat of Congress, and pressured him to delay his decision on comprehensive tariffs, but she could not change his mind in either case.

Trump told The Post newspaper about the Vanity Fair report 'I haven't read it, but she (Wiles) did a great job,' in response to Wiles' description of him as having the personality of 'alcohol drinkers.'
