Lebanese newspaper: Egyptian-Saudi-Emirati disagreement over "negotiation" and ending "Hamas"

The Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar revealed, citing an unnamed Egyptian official, that there are disagreements between Cairo, Riyadh, and Abu Dhabi regarding the mechanisms for negotiating with the Israelis, which prompted Egypt to act independently and later inform Saudi and Emirati officials of the results of the talks.

The newspaper continued that this raised diplomatic sensitivities that appeared in official statements, which included an unusual delay in the arrangement of names.

According to the source, Riyadh and Abu Dhabi accuse Cairo of supporting Hamas more than necessary in light of the opportunity to end it, while Egypt considers that excluding the movement is unrealistic given its popular and political presence in the Palestinian street.

On another note, the French news agency reported that the talks between the occupation and the Islamic Resistance Movement "Hamas" in Egypt are positive and will resume on Tuesday.

A source told the agency that the talks were positive last night and the first round lasted four hours, noting that the indirect negotiations will resume on Tuesday afternoon in Sharm El-Sheikh.

The source, who is an official close to the negotiations, noted that the first round of negotiations held on Monday lasted about four hours, indicating that the roadmap for the talks and the mechanisms were discussed.

He stated that the points being discussed are: prisoner exchange, which includes mechanisms for handing over living and deceased Israeli prisoners, in exchange for Palestinian prisoners, including senior leaders, Israeli withdrawal maps, and the introduction of aid with the start of the ceasefire, and handing over the administration of the sector to an independent Palestinian competence committee.

Another informed source said that Hamas confirmed to the mediators the necessity of stopping the flights of warplanes and reconnaissance and completely halting the bombardment and withdrawing Israeli forces from inside the cities to expedite reaching the capturing groups and handing over the prisoners.

He added that Hamas informed the mediators again that it is ready for a comprehensive agreement if the occupation is willing to agree with American and international guarantees, but he clarified that the negotiations will be difficult regarding the details.

On another side, the Hebrew newspaper Maariv stated that there are still significant gaps between the two sides.

The newspaper pointed out that "Israel" demands the complete release of all prisoners as a condition for starting the truce, and sets clear lines: it will not withdraw from its positions in Gaza, and will insist on a mechanism that ensures the continuation of disarmament even after the fighting ends.

On the other hand, Hamas seeks to obtain international guarantees for a long-term ceasefire, a broad release of Palestinian prisoners, and Israel's commitment not to renew attacks before reaching a comprehensive agreement regarding the future of the sector.

The American network "CNN" reported, citing an unnamed official familiar with the talks, that negotiations between Hamas and Israel in the Egyptian city of Sharm El-Sheikh are expected to continue for a few days.

The official stated that previous talks regarding various stages led to the collapse of negotiations, adding that there is a conscious effort among the mediators to avoid this approach this time.

The official clarified that the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Egypt are among the countries proposed to participate in the international stability force, although details are still being negotiated.

The official stated that the negotiations in Egypt are designed to address specific details.
