Two years of genocide.. Israel kills 7 Palestinians and intensifies bombing of Gaza

The Israeli army killed 7 Palestinians and injured others in an intensive bombardment targeting various areas of the Gaza Strip early Tuesday, while continuing to carry out demolition operations on residential buildings in the Sabra neighborhood south of Gaza City, marking the second year of the genocide it is committing.

Medical sources and eyewitnesses reported that the Israeli army targeted a civilian gathering, a tent for displaced persons, a residential apartment, and aid recipients in various areas of the strip since dawn.

In detail, 3 Palestinians were killed and others were injured in an Israeli bombardment that targeted a civilian gathering in the Sabra neighborhood south of Gaza City. Several Palestinians were injured in an Israeli artillery shelling that targeted a residential apartment on Al-Shuhada Street in the Al-Rimal neighborhood in the center of Gaza City.

In Gaza City as well, Israeli artillery heavily shelled areas of the Al-Nasr neighborhood (north) and the Shuja'iyya neighborhood (east), while the army continued its demolition operations on residential buildings in the Sabra neighborhood.

In the southern part of the strip, a Palestinian was killed in an Israeli bombardment on the "Batan Al-Sameen" area south of Khan Younis. Another Palestinian, a recipient of aid, was killed by Israeli gunfire near the American-Israeli distribution center close to the Moraj axis in Khan Younis.

Away from the supervision of the United Nations and international relief organizations, Tel Aviv has initiated since May 27 a mechanism for distributing aid through the "Gaza Humanitarian Relief Foundation," which Palestinians refer to as "death traps," and which is rejected internationally.

The Israeli army targeted aid recipients at distribution points, resulting in thousands of casualties among them. Two other Palestinians were killed in an Israeli bombardment that targeted areas in the south and center of the strip, with no details available about them.

This escalation comes as the genocide enters its third year, amid negotiations to reach a mechanism for implementing President Donald Trump's plan for a ceasefire in Gaza and the release of prisoners.

On Monday evening, the Hebrew channel "i24 news" reported that Israel is awaiting "48 critical hours" in ongoing negotiations with the "Hamas" movement in the Egyptian city of Sharm El-Sheikh to implement Trump's plan regarding Gaza.

Indirect sessions also began on Monday between the Palestinian and Israeli delegations in the Egyptian city of Sharm El-Sheikh to discuss preparing the ground conditions and establishing a mechanism for prisoner exchange according to Trump's plan.

Tel Aviv estimates that there are 48 Israeli prisoners in Gaza, of whom 20 are alive, while around 11,100 Palestinians are imprisoned in its jails suffering from torture, starvation, and medical neglect, with many having died, according to Palestinian and Israeli human rights and media reports.

On September 29, Trump announced a plan consisting of 20 points, including: the release of Israeli prisoners in Gaza, a ceasefire, and the disarmament of the Hamas movement.

With American support, Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 8, 2023, resulting in 67,173 deaths and 169,780 injuries, most of whom are children and women, and famine that has claimed the lives of 460 Palestinians, including 154 children.
