Netanyahu sends a delegation to Egypt for negotiations that "will last for days" regarding Gaza.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Saturday evening that he instructed the negotiating team to head to Egypt "for negotiations that will last for days" to reach an agreement regarding the Gaza Strip based on U.S. President Donald Trump's plan.

He added: "I hope that in the coming days, we will be able to announce to you the return of all our hostages - both alive and deceased - all at once, while the army remains deep in the Gaza Strip and the areas it controls."

Netanyahu mentioned in a recorded speech that the second phase of the agreement will work on dismantling Hamas's weapons in Gaza, as he put it.

He clarified that he instructed the Israeli negotiating team to head to Egypt "for negotiations that will last for a limited number of days," to discuss the details of a prisoner exchange according to Trump's plan regarding the cessation of hostilities in the Gaza Strip.

He claimed that he coordinated with the U.S. president "an initiative that led to increased pressure on Hamas and approval of our plan to end the war."

Earlier, Egypt announced it would host delegations from Israel and Hamas next Monday to discuss the details of a prisoner exchange according to Trump's plan.

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry stated in a statement that during the indirect talks, "the provision of field conditions and the details of the exchange process of all Israeli detainees and Palestinian prisoners will be discussed according to the U.S. president's proposal."

On September 29, Trump announced a plan consisting of 20 items, including: the release of Israeli prisoners in Gaza, a ceasefire, and the disarmament of Hamas.

During a press conference with the U.S. president at the White House, Netanyahu announced "support for Trump's plan," considering it "achieves Israeli objectives from the war."

On Friday evening, Hamas stated in a statement that it had submitted its response to Trump's plan regarding Gaza to the mediators, announcing its agreement to release all living and deceased Israeli prisoners.

It also renewed its agreement to hand over the administration of the sector to a Palestinian body of independents (technocrats) based on Palestinian national consensus and supported by Arab and Islamic backing.

However, Hamas confirmed that the future of the Gaza Strip and the rights of the people will be discussed within a Palestinian framework, emphasizing its "readiness to immediately enter, through mediators, into negotiations to discuss the details of that."

In his comment on Hamas's response, Trump said in a tweet: "Based on the statement issued by Hamas, I believe they are ready for a lasting peace," calling on Tel Aviv to "immediately stop the bombing of Gaza."

Ignoring Trump's call, Israel continues to commit massacres as part of the ongoing genocide against the Gaza Strip, having killed nearly 50 Palestinians, including a child, and injured others in continuous attacks on the sector since dawn on Saturday.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel, with U.S. support, has been committing genocide in Gaza, resulting in 67,074 deaths and 169,430 injuries, most of whom are children and women.
