The Israeli army has killed 5 Palestinians, including a girl, since dawn on Saturday and injured others in ongoing attacks on the Gaza Strip, ignoring U.S. President Donald Trump's call on Friday evening to immediately halt the bombardment of the area.
In response to Hamas's announcement of its agreement to release prisoners according to his proposal, Trump stated that he believes Hamas is now "ready for lasting peace," urging Israel to stop the bombing of Gaza "immediately" in order to facilitate the release of Israeli prisoners.
According to medical sources and eyewitnesses, the attacks on Gaza did not cease despite Trump's call, as the Israeli army targeted two homes in Gaza City and the Al-Nuseirat camp (central), resulting in the deaths of at least 5 Palestinians and injuries to others.
The Israeli army also continued its intense aerial and artillery bombardment of Gaza City and Khan Younis (south), and intensified operations to demolish and blow up residential buildings using drones and explosives in various areas of Gaza City during the night hours.
