Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar stated on Tuesday evening that Hamas's attempt to make changes to U.S. President Donald Trump's plan regarding the Gaza Strip would mean "practically rejecting it."
Sa'ar said via the American platform "X": "Hamas may try to make changes to Trump's plan, which practically means rejecting it."
Earlier on Tuesday, Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman said: "We delivered Trump's plan to the Hamas negotiating delegation yesterday (Monday), and the discussions with them were general."
He added in statements to Qatari channel "Al Jazeera": "So far, we do not know Hamas's response to the plan, which requires consensus with the Palestinian factions."
He continued: "We and Egypt (the mediating countries) made it clear to Hamas during our meeting yesterday that our main goal is to stop the war."
Since October 7, 2023, Israel, with U.S. support, has been committing genocide in Gaza, resulting in 66,097 deaths and 168,536 injuries, most of whom are children and women, and famine has claimed the lives of 453 Palestinians, including 150 children.
"Hamas has acted responsibly and promised to study the plan," according to bin Abdulrahman.
He stated that the plan "achieves a main goal of ending the war, and there are issues within it that need clarification and negotiation."
He indicated that "stopping the war is a clear item in the plan, and the issue of withdrawal (Israeli from Gaza) needs clarifications, and this should be discussed."
For its part, the official Hebrew broadcasting authority reported on Tuesday evening that "the Israeli negotiating team is awaiting instructions from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding the resumption of talks."
It mentioned "the possibility of holding negotiation rounds in Qatar in the coming days."
On Monday, Trump reviewed the main points of his plan in a press conference in Washington with Netanyahu.
He said it "includes the release of Israeli prisoners (in Gaza) within 72 hours, a ceasefire, and the disarmament of Hamas."
He added that the plan calls for the establishment of an international supervisory body headed by him, responsible for training a governing administration in Gaza, without the participation of "Hamas."
Netanyahu stated that he "supports Trump's plan," considering that it "achieves Israeli objectives from the war," as he put it.
Despite this, the Israeli army continues its ground deployment in key areas of Gaza City, bombing and demolishing buildings and residential facilities, as part of its efforts to occupy the city and displace Palestinians from it.
Israel has occupied Palestine and territories in Syria and Lebanon for decades, refusing to withdraw from them and to establish an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on the borders prior to the 1967 war.
Hamas may try to make changes to Trump's plan, which practically means rejecting it.
