The Israeli occupation army continues its comprehensive aggression on the Gaza Strip for the 709th consecutive day, leaving behind immense destruction and an unprecedented humanitarian disaster, as the policy of systematic starvation escalates and daily massacres continue, especially in the city of Gaza, which is subjected to intense bombardment aimed at forcibly displacing its residents.
In a first-of-its-kind development in the Middle East, the United Nations and its specialized agencies, led by the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC), announced the existence of an official famine in the Gaza Governorate and the northern part of the Strip, confirming that more than half a million people are facing "catastrophic" hunger.
This disaster is a direct result of the suffocating blockade imposed by the occupation and its closure of crossings, leading to a complete collapse of the humanitarian and health systems. The Ministry of Health in Gaza has documented an increase in the toll of victims of malnutrition and dehydration to 420 martyrs, including 145 children, with 7 new deaths recorded in the past 24 hours alone.
The operations of the occupation army are concentrated in the city of Gaza, where aircraft are launching intense and heavy airstrikes on residential towers and homes, coinciding with ground forces demolishing entire residential blocks. These attacks are part of a systematic plan to displace more than 1.3 million residents of the city and its displaced people towards the south of the Strip, despite the lack of basic living conditions there.
Medical sources announced on Saturday that the total toll of the Israeli aggression since October 7, 2023, has risen to 64,803 martyrs and 164,264 injured. In just the past 24 hours, the bodies of 47 martyrs and 205 injured individuals have arrived at hospitals in the Strip, while a large number of victims remain under the rubble.
