France condemns the United States' refusal to grant visas to Palestinian Authority officials.

French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot condemned the United States' refusal to grant entry visas to officials of the Palestinian National Authority, emphasizing that this decision contradicts the fundamental principles of peace and international cooperation.

Barrot's statements came during a meeting of European Union foreign ministers in Copenhagen, where he highlighted the importance of free access to the United Nations headquarters in New York, which should be available to all member states.

Barrot affirmed that any restrictions on attendance at the United Nations General Assembly constitute a violation of the rights of member states, and that France will continue to support the rights of Palestinians to express their views in international forums.

This French position comes at a sensitive time, as the Palestinian Authority seeks to enhance its presence on the international stage, especially in light of the challenges it faces from Israeli occupation.

Barrot also called on EU member states to take a unified stance to support the rights of Palestinians and ensure that they are not subjected to any discrimination in international forums.
