Weitkov's Visit to Gaza Misleads the World About Famine.. Where Are the 100 Million Meals?

Palestinians in Gaza criticized the visit of U.S. envoy Steve Weitkov to a aid distribution center in Rafah, asserting that it was an attempt to mislead global public opinion about the catastrophic humanitarian situation in the sector. Palestinian Mohammed Al-Najjar, a displaced person in the Mawasi area west of Khan Younis, expressed his discontent with the scene that emerged during the visit, describing it as a "farce" aimed at absolving the Israeli occupation of the blood of the martyrs who fell to the bullets of the occupation forces at the gates of aid centers.

Al-Najjar pointed out that a sign placed by the American center claimed to distribute 100 million meals to the displaced, but he confirmed that this was merely American and Israeli misinformation, sponsored by Weitkov and Netanyahu, aimed at alleviating international anger towards what is happening in Gaza. He said: "I am a displaced person close to the distribution center, and I went twice under the sound of bullets to try to obtain aid, and upon my arrival, I found the supplies had run out. Did they really distribute a hundred million meals?"

In a related context, the head of the Euro-Mediterranean Observatory, Rami Abdu, described Weitkov's visit as a fabricated scene aimed at a promotional display, directly accusing the American envoy of being a "war criminal." Abdu mentioned on the X platform that Weitkov attended a camp that simulates Nazi concentration camps, where groups of civilians from an area controlled by Yasser Abu Shabab's gangs were brought in to produce a promotional display for aid distribution, considering Weitkov's descent to this level as disgusting.

For his part, Munir Al-Barsh, the director general of the Ministry of Health in Gaza, confirmed that Weitkov's visit is not a rescue but a filmed complicity, as behind the cameras thousands of residents suffer from hunger, while a cold play is presented to beautify the crime. He said on Facebook: "Aid is behind the wires, and death is everywhere, and anyone who sees this line of hungry people and remains silent is an accomplice in the crime."

In a related context, Hamas political bureau member Ezzat Al-Rashq considered Weitkov's visit merely a promotional display aimed at containing the rising anger from the American-Israeli partnership in starving Gaza. He pointed out that Weitkov sees only what the occupation wants him to see, witnessing the tragedy through misleading Israeli eyes, and that he will not address the practices of the "Gaza Humanitarian Foundation," which prepares the stage for the Israeli war machine.

Al-Rashq also confirmed that the White House's acknowledgment of the "famine in Gaza" after denying it, without condemning the occupation, is an absolution of the perpetrator and provides a political cover for the continuation of the tragedy. On social media, Palestinians condemned the visit, considering it a cover for Israeli starvation policies and support for the killing at the gates of distribution centers that have become "death traps."
