The Israeli occupation forces arrested a group of citizens from the city of Hebron this morning, Sunday, while they assaulted another citizen physically and stormed the towns of Sa'ir, Al-Shuyukh, and Beit Kahil.
According to local sources, "the occupation forces stormed the southern area of Hebron and arrested Ahmad Sharif Nasr Ghaith, and Hamam Ibrahim Rashid Abu Hamdiyeh Ghaith, and detained the citizen Muhammad Nour Al-Din Abu Turki after assaulting him."
Additionally, the Israeli occupation forces stormed the towns of Al-Shuyukh, Sa'ir, and Beit Kahil, without recording any arrests.
Meanwhile, the occupation army arrested the mayor of Qarawat Bani Hassan, Ibrahim Asi, on Saturday evening, west of Salfit city in the northern West Bank, along with another Palestinian during a raid on the village.
Local sources reported that "the occupation forces arrested the mayor of Qarawat Bani Hassan, Ibrahim Asi," while other sources indicated that "the army also arrested a bulldozer driver named Ghaleb Rayan and confiscated a bulldozer and a crane during the raid."
Moreover, the same sources highlighted that the Israeli occupation forces also placed an iron gate and concrete blocks at the entrance of the village, which narrowed the road and made it difficult for vehicles to pass in both directions.
In a related context, the Israeli occupation army had previously arrested: the mayor of the village of Al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah (central), Amin Abu Aliya, on August 23, and released him after 9 days, then the mayor of Hebron, Taysir Abu Sneina, who was arrested on September 2 and transferred to administrative detention (based on a secret file and without trial).
The third is the mayor of the village of Al-Qubeiba, northwest of Jerusalem, Nafez Hamouda, who was arrested on September 10 and released the same day, followed by Abdul Fattah Abu Ali, the mayor of the town of Silat al-Dhahr, south of Jenin (north), who was arrested on September 11 and released the same day.
With American support, the Israeli occupation forces have been continuing since October 7, 2023, to carry out a genocide against the entire besieged Gaza Strip, resulting in 65,208 deaths and 166,271 injuries, most of whom are children and women, not to mention a famine that claimed the lives of 440 Palestinians, including 147 children.
The occupation forces continue to arrest mayors in the West Bank concurrently with the aggression on Gaza.
