The UAE mission to the United Nations announced that it and the Chinese mission called for a closed session of the Security Council to be held on Monday afternoon to discuss the situation in the Gaza Strip.
The mission stated through its account on the X platform (formerly Twitter) that the invitation comes in light of the continued deterioration of the situation in Gaza, the attack on Al-Shifa Hospital, and the repeated attacks on the Jabalia camp. She added that the session will witness two briefings, one by the UN Special Coordinator for Middle East Peace, Tor Wensland, and the second by the UN Under-Secretary-General for Relief Affairs, Martin Griffiths.
