Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen accused Jordan of impeding the travel of Israelis to the Kingdom on Tuesday by confiscating religious Jewish apparel.
Slamming the "unacceptable" measures, he said that Jordan had prevented Israelis from bringing items related to Jewish faith, such as religious books, teffilin and kippot.
He said that his ministry is working with the Jordanian embassy in Tel Aviv, as well as with the relevant authorities in Amman, to resolve the issue.
Cohen said the crisis must be solved quickly with "thousands" of Israelis wishing to visit Jordan each year. He also emphasized the importance of peaceful relations between Jordan and Israel.
