Last night, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu decided to stop work on the turbine project in the occupied Golan.
According to the Hebrew website Ynet, this step came after an evaluation session held last night by Netanyahu about threats by the Druze community to escalate protests against the project that stole their lands.
Netanyahu's decision contradicts the announcement of the so-called National Security Minister in his government, Itamar Ben Gvir, to continue the project.
Netanyahu took the advice of the head of the National Security Council, Tzachi Hanegbi, and the head of the Shin Bet, Ronen Bar, until he announced his new decision.
