The West Bank.. Israeli army and settlers abuse an elderly Palestinian.

The Israeli army and settlers assaulted an elderly Palestinian on Tuesday evening while storming his farm on the outskirts of the Palestinian village of Turmus Ayya, northeast of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank.

A video clip was published showing the moment the army stormed the farm of the elderly man, Mashhour Hamad (63 years old), by smashing its gate with a military vehicle and then assaulting him.

Mohammed Hamad, the son of the elderly man, stated that his father was at the farm when the iron gate was smashed and stormed by Israeli soldiers who immediately proceeded to violently beat him.

He added: "Four settlers, some of them armed, stormed the farm in the presence of the army, which left the area after opening the gate and left them there, so they assaulted my father with severe beating and stones."

Hamad explained that the assault on his father "caused him bruises all over his body, necessitating his transfer to a local medical center for examinations and treatment."

He mentioned that his father is a farmer and works in livestock breeding, and he has previously faced harassment during settler incursions around the farm in the "Jaroufa" area.

Ayed Ghafri, an activist monitoring settler assaults in the central West Bank, said that the settlers attempted to storm the farm and steal a vehicle there before the army arrived, but the owners confronted the settlers, and when they failed, the army stormed the farm.

He clarified that the settlers simultaneously attacked a construction workshop in the village of "Deir Abu Falah" northeast of Ramallah and assaulted the workers there.

Settlers carried out 7,154 assaults against Palestinians and their properties in the West Bank over two years, resulting in the deaths of 33 citizens and the displacement of 33 Palestinian Bedouin communities.

The Israeli army and settlers in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, have killed at least 1,049 Palestinians, injured about 10,300, in addition to arresting more than 20,000 and displacing over 50,000.
