Journalists' Syndicate: The occupation has committed the largest media genocide in the history of humanity in Gaza.

The Palestinian Journalists' Syndicate stated that the Israeli occupation has committed the largest and first media genocide in the history of humanity in Gaza during two years of continuous Israeli war against our people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including occupied Jerusalem.

In a statement issued today, Tuesday, coinciding with the two-year anniversary of the ongoing Israeli war on Gaza, the syndicate called on all governments, parliaments, international institutions, and organizations to pressure the occupation to allow international and Arab journalists to enter Gaza.

After two years of continuous Israeli aggression on Gaza, two years of blood and killing, and two years of the assassination of truth at the hands of the occupation army, on days like these, two years ago, the Israeli killing machine opened the gates of hell on the Gaza Strip, where the aggression was a calculated and systematic decision to annihilate life, starting with the annihilation of media, with journalists and media institutions crushed and obliterated by the occupation in an attempt to silence voices, uproot cameras, and execute, arrest, and injure witnesses.

We, at the Palestinian Journalists' Syndicate, do not count numbers, but we count names, faces, memories, colleagues, and friends with whom we lived, and who have families, dreams, and human lives that the occupation has assassinated. We were counting the last message sent by a journalist to his colleague before he was torn apart by missiles, the last photo he took before being buried under the rubble, and the last live broadcast that ended with the sound of moaning and a scream of 'We are targeted, we are dying.'

More than 252 journalists have been martyred over two years, some killed with their families inside their homes, some targeted while raising a camera, not a weapon, and others assassinated for writing and publishing the truth.

Hundreds of the injured, some of whom lost limbs, others lost the light of their eyes, but none of them lost their faith in the truth. As for the detainees, some spent months in solitary confinement just for publishing a news story or exposing a crime.

The syndicate confirmed that this war is not just a war on Gaza, but on human conscience, on the profession of journalism, and on the world's right to see, hear, and know, as the occupation does not only kill the journalist but also kills the narrative it does not want the world to know.

We affirm that we, at the Palestinian Journalists' Syndicate, can only be the voice of those whose voices have been silenced, the camera of those whose lenses have been broken, and the call of those who can no longer call out. Therefore, we declare to the entire world: The martyrdom of this number of journalists in just two years is the first and largest media genocide in modern times and the first of its kind in the history of humanity, and it is a disgrace to anyone who remains silent or equates the executioner with the victim.

The syndicate saluted all international institutions that stood with the truth and justice for Palestinian journalists, foremost among them the International Federation of Journalists, calling on all those who have not taken a stand against the crimes of the occupation that the time has come to support the oppressed, the victim, the downtrodden, and the wronged.

The General Secretariat of the Palestinian Journalists' Syndicate pledged to continue the legal, moral, and media battle by all means and on all fronts to defend our journalists and expose the war crimes and genocide committed by the occupation against our journalists until the killers of journalists are held accountable.

It called on everyone in all international forums for a moral stand to save what remains of our shared humanity.

The syndicate also urged all colleagues around the world to say: 'Do not allow the assassination of journalism in Palestine, for its assassination here is its assassination everywhere.'
