This evening, indirect negotiations are taking place at the Egyptian resort of Sharm El Sheikh between delegations from Israel and Hamas, aimed at implementing U.S. President Donald Trump's plan to end the war in the Gaza Strip.
Tel Aviv estimates that there are 48 Israeli captives in Gaza, of whom 20 are alive, while approximately 11,100 Palestinians are imprisoned in its jails, suffering from torture and medical neglect.
Despite the intense diplomatic activity, the gaps between the two sides remain significant, especially regarding the arrangements following the release of the hostages and the required security guarantees.
After months of evasion, Netanyahu has succumbed to Trump's pressures, and a ceasefire will be announced.
