China Arab Television: On September 9, Israel attacked the Qatari capital, Doha. The attack targeted Hamas leadership. What is China's response?
Lin Jian: China strongly condemns the attack that occurred yesterday in Doha, Qatar, and firmly opposes Israel's violation of Qatar's territorial integrity and national security. We are deeply concerned that this attack will lead to further escalation in the region, and we condemn the actions taken by the parties involved that deliberately jeopardize the ceasefire talks in Gaza. The use of force will not achieve peace in the Middle East. Dialogue and negotiation are the fundamental ways out of this impasse. It will soon be two years since the outbreak of the conflict in Gaza. China strongly urges the parties involved, especially Israel, to make efforts to end the fighting and resume talks, rather than the opposite.
Global Times: Reports indicate that Israel informed the United States of its airstrikes against Hamas in Doha, Qatar, prior to the attack. What is China's comment?
Lin Jian: We are deeply concerned about the related reports. The Israeli airstrike on Hamas targets in Doha seriously violated Qatar's territorial sovereignty and national security and will lead to an escalation of tensions in the region. This is closely related to the differing positions of some non-regional countries regarding the Middle East issue. We urge these major countries to work for regional peace and stability, take a fair and responsible stance, and work with the international community to play a constructive role in stopping the conflict and easing tensions.
