Death of a young woman from Gaza due to starvation after arriving at a hospital in Italy.

A 20-year-old Palestinian woman named Marah Abu Zahri has died after being airlifted from the besieged Gaza Strip to a hospital in Italy for treatment. Pisa University Hospital announced her death today, Saturday, noting her complicated health condition.

The young woman arrived in Italy via a humanitarian flight organized by the Italian government, as she was suffering from severe malnutrition. Her mother accompanied her on this journey, which transported 31 patients and their companions to several Italian cities.

The hospital confirmed that Marah's condition required urgent medical care, but she died after undergoing medical examinations and starting treatment, as she suffered a sudden respiratory crisis and cardiac arrest.

Since the beginning of the Israeli war on Gaza, more than 180 children and young people have been transferred to Italy for treatment, amid the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the besieged enclave.

Humanitarian organizations and UN agencies have warned of a hunger outbreak in Gaza, as the Israeli occupation has closed all crossings leading to the enclave since March 2, exacerbating the food crisis.

The Israeli war on Gaza continues, with more than 61,000 Palestinians killed and over 155,000 injured, leading to the complete displacement of the enclave's residents amid massive destruction.

Concerns are growing over the outbreak of famine in Gaza, as the humanitarian aid allowed to enter barely meets the minimum needs of the population, increasing their suffering.
