Netanyahu: We will allow the residents of Gaza to emigrate and are in talks with countries to host them

The Prime Minister of the occupation, Benjamin Netanyahu, in his recent statements announced that his country will allow residents of the Gaza Strip who wish to emigrate due to the ongoing war to move to other countries. This came during an interview with the Hebrew media where he indicated that there are talks with several countries that may be willing to host these residents.

Netanyahu added that this type of migration occurs in all conflicts, noting that the occupation will allow it during and after the battles. He emphasized that the goal is to give the residents of Gaza the opportunity to leave the combat zones, reflecting the occupation's policy towards the humanitarian situation in the strip.

While Netanyahu speaks of the possibility of migration, the occupation authorities have imposed strict measures on the borders of the Gaza Strip for years, preventing many Palestinians from leaving their lands. These statements raise concerns and evoke memories of the Nakba that Palestine witnessed in 1948.

Netanyahu also pointed out that far-right ministers in his coalition had previously called for a 'voluntary' departure of Gazan Palestinians, reflecting the current government's attitudes towards the Palestinian issue. There has been talk of finding third countries to host these residents, which aligns with previous proposals by former U.S. President Donald Trump.

These statements come at a sensitive time, as the security cabinet of the occupation approved plans last week to expand the war and take control of the city of Gaza. Under these circumstances, the vast majority of the strip's residents have been displaced at least once during the war that erupted following Hamas's attack in October 2023.
