Russia: Israel's plan to fully occupy Gaza is a step in the wrong direction.

Dmitry Polyanskiy, Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the United Nations, stated that the Israeli occupation's plan to completely occupy the Gaza Strip would be "a step in the wrong direction." These remarks came during a press conference at the United Nations headquarters in New York, where Polyanskiy expressed Russia's concern over this step.

Polyanskiy added that Russia's position aligns with that of most member states of the United Nations Security Council, noting that this plan represents a violation of all United Nations resolutions. He emphasized that the only possible solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is the two-state solution.

In a related context, the Israeli Security Cabinet "kabinett" approved Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's plan to completely occupy the Gaza Strip, despite opposition from the military establishment, which warned of the potential risks to the lives of prisoners and soldiers.

Since October 7, 2023, the occupying state has been waging aggression against the besieged Gaza Strip, resulting in a genocide that includes killing, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement. These actions disregard all international calls and the orders of the International Court of Justice to cease.

So far, this genocide has resulted in 61,258 martyrs and 152,045 injured Palestinians, in addition to more than 9,000 missing. It has also led to the displacement of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians, resulting in famine that has claimed the lives of many, including dozens of children.
