Ted Chaiban, UNICEF's Deputy Executive Director, reported that the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip is worsening, with data indicating that one in three people in the area spends entire days without food, a serious indicator of the deteriorating humanitarian condition in the region.

In a related context, the director of Al-Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza confirmed that hospitals recorded seven deaths in the past twenty-four hours due to starvation policies and malnutrition, including one child, amid the ongoing Israeli escalation against the besieged strip.

The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that the death toll from famine has risen to 169 people, including 93 children, as the humanitarian crisis continues to worsen and living conditions for the population suffering from severe food and healthcare shortages deteriorate.

In another development, the government media office in Gaza indicated that the number of aid trucks that entered the strip on Saturday did not exceed 36 trucks, confirming that most of them were looted and stolen due to the security chaos created by the Israeli occupation, reflecting a serious escalation of the humanitarian crisis.

Aside from the efforts of the United Nations and international organizations, Israel has begun since May 27 to implement a plan for distributing aid through the Gaza Humanitarian Relief Foundation, an entity supported by Israel and the United States, but rejected internationally, as Palestinians believe that this mechanism aims to gather the population and force them into displacement, paving the way for the reoccupation of Gaza.

In previous statistics, the Ministry of Health reported that the death toll of Palestinians awaiting aid reached 1,422 martyrs and more than 10,000 injured since the beginning of the operation, with ongoing killings and destruction supported by the United States since October 2023, resulting in the deaths and injuries of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians, most of whom are children and women, in addition to hundreds of thousands of displaced persons and waves of famine that have claimed many lives.
