Today, Wednesday, the Israeli occupation forces announced, by military order, the seizure and laying of hands on more than eight dunams of citizens’ land in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron.
The official news agency (WAFA) reported that the occupation forces distributed a military order to seize 8,438 meters of citizens' land adjacent to the "Karmiel" settlement, which was forcibly established in Masafer Yatta.
Head of the village council in Masafer Yatta, Nidal Younis, told WAFA that the lands to be seized are located at the main entrance, if not the only one, to all the areas, villages and communities in Masafer Yatta and the Badia.
He added that the occupation's announcement of seizing this large area and in that specific location for security purposes, according to its claim, raises many fears among the residents about its intentions and its efforts to tighten its control over those entrances and dominate them, which will result in deepening their suffering and tightening the siege on them.
