Japanese Ambassador to Jordan Asari Hideki affirmed his country's firm commitment to supporting needy Palestinian refugees, especially in light of the current circumstances.
This came during his participation in the graduation ceremony of the Distinguished Leadership and Accountability Programme of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), today, Thursday, which is supported by the Government of Japan.
The Japanese Ambassador stressed the pivotal role played by UNRWA in providing humanitarian assistance, health care, education, and basic services to Palestinian refugees in Jordan and the region.
It is noteworthy that the programme aims to enhance accountability and compliance within UNRWA, in addition to improving service delivery on the front lines, by providing practical learning opportunities and workshops for management staff, with a focus on the concept of women, peace and security.
