13 Palestinians killed in two strikes on Gaza as first aid shipment arrives

Two separate Israeli strikes killed at least 13 people, including women and children, in Gaza on Saturday, Palestinian health officials said, as Israel announced the first aid shipment to the blockaded northern Gaza Strip in weeks.

One of the attacks targeted a school that had been turned into a shelter in the Tuffah neighborhood in eastern Gaza City, killing at least six people, according to the Gaza Health Ministry. The ministry said the dead included two local journalists, a pregnant woman and a child.

The Israeli occupation army said that the attack targeted a member of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement, without providing evidence or further details.

The other attack killed seven people when an Israeli airstrike targeted a tent in the southern city of Khan Younis, where displaced people were taking shelter. Nasser Hospital said two women and a child were among the dead.

The Israeli military did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the incident.
