The Israeli occupation army announced on Wednesday evening that the Minister of Defense in the occupation government, Yoav Galant, and the Chief of Staff, Major General Herzi Halevi, agreed to establish a military division on the eastern border.
The occupation army said in a statement that the division was established to protect Israel's eastern borders, in light of the situation assessment, noting that the division would be subordinate to the central command.
He added that the division's mission is to strengthen the defense in the border area, Route 90 and the settlements, and to confront terrorist incidents and arms smuggling.
