The German Foreign and Development Ministries said in a joint statement on Wednesday that Germany intends to resume cooperation with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in Gaza, after a review concluded that UNRWA is neutral.
According to the German News Agency, the two ministries urged UNRWA to quickly implement the recommendations of the audit report, including strengthening internal control and strengthening external supervision of project management.
The two ministries explained, in a statement, that “in support of these reforms, the German government will soon resume its cooperation with UNRWA in Gaza, as Australia, Canada, Sweden, Japan and other countries have done.”
