Japan confirms its continued support for the "two-state solution"

The Japanese government announced that it will continue to support the "two-state solution" in the Middle East through negotiations despite the American "veto" against the draft resolution regarding full Palestine membership in the United Nations.

Japanese Foreign Minister Kamikawa Yoko explained in a press statement on Tuesday that her country voted in favor of the draft resolution to ensure peace in the Middle East.

Yoko renewed its calls for an "immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, and the continued flow of humanitarian aid," in light of the continued Israeli aggression against the Strip since the seventh of last October.

Last Thursday, the United States used its veto power to prevent the passage of a draft resolution in the Security Council demanding that Palestine be granted full membership in the United Nations.
