Corruption in the Land of Black!

The Iraqi News Agency reported two days ago that the authorities in Mesopotamia had launched a wide-ranging arrest campaign, targeting political and security officials, parliamentarians, businessmen, and governors, on the back of files related to suspicions of corruption and abuse of influence; According to the agency, 47 defendants, including 12 parliamentarians, were arrested as part of an anti-corruption campaign in which the three authorities participated: judicial, executive, and legislative. The news indicates a serious move by the new Iraqi government to address corruption, after it became a phenomenon, and a parallel state, draining resources, and doubling the belts of unemployment and pockets of poverty in a country floating on a sea of oil. After the fall of Saddam's regime, an Iraqi delegation of incoming leaders went to Washington to discuss with President Bush Jr. the files of security, economy, and electricity, and Bush told them: Leave the electricity, and let's discuss the files of security and economy. In a meeting that brought me together, on the sidelines of a media forum in the Jordanian capital, I asked an Iraqi journalist about the situation in the land of black, and he said: "The Americans have adopted a policy based on enriching the elites and impoverishing the homeland." This is a policy that seems to have turned into a cross-border "catalogue", which many elites have enjoyed, seeing homelands as mere spoils. We thank God that we do not have parliamentarians who engage in corruption! And if there are corrupt people among us, God has blessed them with blind justice due to its extreme integrity, transparency, and sensitivity; for the corrupt person is innocent until he reaches the peak of his wealth, satisfies his desire for riches, and reaches, by God's grace and care, his safe havens, laden with vast quantities of gold, silver, branded horses, and crops, before she begins to initiate a lawsuit demanding his extradition and the recovery of his money which he earned from his toil, sweat, and lifelong hardship.. for his throat has always resounded before the masses: "We die, we die, and long live the homeland!".
