On the sidelines of the NATO summit held in Washington, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez called for an immediate and urgent ceasefire in Gaza, warning of the danger of escalation.
Sanchez called on Western countries not to follow a "double standard" policy in the wars taking place in Ukraine and Gaza, according to the Washington Times.
He added: "If we tell our people that we support Ukraine because we defend international law, we must do the same with regard to Gaza."
It is noteworthy that Spain recently recognized the State of Palestine, along with Ireland, Norway and several other countries.
