Judaization of “Unified Jerusalem”: Where has it arrived?

Dr. Asaad Abdel Rahman

Dr. Asaad Abdel Rahman

Opinion Writer

The Israeli efforts to tighten the security grip and Judaize the occupied city of Jerusalem, especially “East Jerusalem,” did not stop for a single day. And here is the Israeli government, claiming to develop buildings and infrastructure in the Holy City, unanimously approving its new plan, which aims, according to observers, to take full control of the city and work to “Israelize education,” implement programs to “brainwash” students and youth, and build colonial housing units. / “settlement” annually, changing the entire Arab and Islamic face of Jerusalem. This plan has two effects: immediate and future. The first includes making a change in the features of the city, such as demolishing homes and confiscating lands, under the pretext that these measures are for the benefit of Jerusalemites, while the future impact is the impact on the education and culture sector in the long term, that is, “Israelization of education,” in order to support the Israeli narrative through teaching Israeli curricula. Which makes Israel acceptable in the region and a natural part of it.

It is established that the new plan is in fact nothing but a continuation of previous plans announced by successive occupation governments. The Judaization project has not stopped since the first day of the occupation of “Zahrat al-Mada’in.” However, it seems that the occupation authorities, on the basis of “putting poison in honey,” after realizing the racist neglect practiced against the East Jerusalem area due to the lack of budgets allocated to it, and in an attempt, perhaps perhaps, to raise the standard of living of its residents in order to neutralize them from the resistance, hastened and approved Transferring large sums of money under the pretext of developing East Jerusalem and making it like West Jerusalem. Here lies the greatest danger of “Israelizing the Jerusalemite consciousness and mind,” focusing on teaching Hebrew, integrating students, and considering Hebrew the first language in Jerusalem, as well as linking the Jerusalemite economy to complete subordination to the Israeli economy.

On the other hand, the Israeli government is preparing to approve a new “settlement” plan under the name “New Talpiot” south of the city of Al-Quds Al-Sharif. According to the “Ir Amim” Association, the leftist Israeli association specializing in Jerusalem affairs, the plan aims to “besiege the towns of Beit Safafa, Umm Tuba, and Sur Baher and flood them with colonialists/settlers, which is the area separating Jerusalem from Bethlehem.” According to observers, “The borders of the Talpiot plan extend to the existing settlements within the towns of southern Jerusalem, to connect them to those perched on the lands of residents residing in its eastern side, to form a settlement belt that surrounds the Jerusalem towns in the targeted area.”

The Israeli plans targeting “Zahrat al-Mada’in” today are larger than their previous counterparts, which means the Israeli desire to resolve the conflict over the Judaization and Israelization of Jerusalem. It is certain that the success of the occupation’s Judaizing plans in the medium and long term will impose a fait accompli in Jerusalem that will transform it like the mixed cities in occupied Palestine 1948. In this context, the Israeli Prime Minister and his extremist government, led by the extremist Finance Minister (Bezalel Smotrich), do not hide their “endeavor.” The Judaization of Jerusalem through forced migration is a continuation of the war on the identity of the Holy City, the Arab presence, and Islamic and Christian sanctities. So what are we doing as Arabs and Muslims to protect Jerusalem and the Jerusalemites?!! A question we have always asked, and others as well, but it remains unanswered!!!

The God of Israel is the God of Papua New Guinea.. A new embassy in occupied Jerusalem

Dr. Amani Al-Qurm

Dr. Amani Al-Qurm

Opinion Writer

Papua New Guinea is not one of the countries that we hear about every day. Perhaps most of us do not know it until it recently made news headlines after it opened an embassy in occupied Jerusalem, becoming the fifth after Trump’s ill-fated announcement of the establishment of an American embassy in Jerusalem. Papua New Guinea is a modern country that is A large island and a number of small islands in the South Pacific Ocean bordering Indonesia and Australia, and it belonged to the British Crown until it became independent in 1975 and became a member of the Commonwealth... It is not much different from underdeveloped countries, where they suffer from the control of corruption, bribery, and totalitarian rule throughout the country... All This is not important to us, what is important is what brought her to occupied Jerusalem? The speech delivered by the Prime Minister of this country (James Marape) at the opening ceremony of his embassy two days ago suggests a lot of strangeness, as he said in text: “You, that is, Israel, are the great preserver of the moral values that were transmitted to humanity... and recognition of God as Christians will not be complete without recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of the nation.” And the people of Israel." God forbid that what this man said was true.

The relations of Israel with this country extend for many years and were not born as a result of political or economic agreements, but rather are based on allegations of religious and historical rapprochement between the two parties. Its credit goes back to the spread of fundamentalist Christian missionaries, specifically members of the International Messianic Embassy in Jerusalem, in the post-colonial period among the various tribes living throughout Papua New Guinea. As is known, the International Messianic Embassy in Jerusalem is one of the many international organizations working for Israel. It was established in 1980 as a response to 13 countries moving their embassies to Tel Aviv in rejection of the Israeli Knesset’s declaration that occupied Jerusalem is the capital of Israel. The Messianic Embassy Organization has a headquarters in Papua New Guinea and its members are strongly active in the Pacific countries in the form of Christian missionaries who were able to employ religion for politics and spread Messianic prophecies centered around the Messiah who will save the people of Israel at the end of time among members of Guinean society at the government and people levels, so that it was Linking the teachings of Christianity with Zionism and the Israeli entity to the extent that Papua New Guinea government ministers embraced the principle that the God of Israel is the God of the state. In the eyes of Papua New Guinea, Israel has become the country that enjoys development, culture and morals..! It simply means their savior and savior.

The irony is that the matter did not stop there, but rather extended to allegations that there was a discovery of Jewish male genes in the males of one of the ethnic groups in Papua New Guinea, which is the “Gogodala tribe,” and that - based on the allegations - they may be traced back to one of the lost tribes in Jewish history. The idea has been stuffed into the heads of primitive people in Papua New Guinea since the year 1990, until today they are convinced that they are originally Jewish, and they cheer for Israel on and off occasion.

President's speech before the revolutionary and the "angry" reactions!

Lawyer Ziad Abu Ziad

Lawyer Ziad Abu Ziad

Opinion Writer

The reactions of some European countries in particular, and America and other countries in general, to the speech of President Mahmoud Abbas before the eleventh session of the Revolutionary Council of the Fatah movement, which was held in Ramallah on August 24, if they indicate anything, they indicate the height of Israel’s international hypocrisy and the double standard whenever it occurs. It is about the Palestinian people and their cause.

The West, which allows some heretics to burn the Holy Qur’an under the pretext of freedom of expression, denies President Mahmoud Abbas the ability to express a point of view supported by historical facts, the essence of which is that the Jews of Eastern and Central Europe are Khazar Tatars who converted to the Jewish religion after their king converted to this religion, and that they are not descendants of Israel. The Children of Israel, who were mentioned in the Qur’an and that they were not Semites, descendants of Shem, son of Noah.

In fairness to the scientific truth, what was stated by President Abbas was not one of his innovations or inventions, but rather some of what was said by many researchers, whether those who studied and specialized in European and Jewish history or those who specialized in studying the Holocaust as one of the most heinous crimes against humanity in modern history.

The President did not deny the Holocaust, but rather mentioned some theories adopted by many historians and international researchers, knowing that some of them are controversial, especially by the Jews and their European sympathizers, who carry on their backs the burdens of their Nazi criminal ancestors whose hands are stained with blood, but these are hypocrites who fish in the water. Al-Akar took the initiative to take the president's speech out of context, reflecting on their loyalty and hypocrisy to international Judaism.

In order for things to be put in their correct context, we must agree that the Holocaust is a historical fact and a stain on the history of Europe, and that our people paid the price for the Nazi crimes against the Jews because Europe colluded and helped to displace our people from their homeland, rob them of their property and capabilities, and turn the vast majority of them into refugees, all of this from For the establishment of a national homeland for the Jews in Palestine.

The European, American, Canadian and other reactions ignore the fact that our people were displaced from 78% of their land in 1948 and the rest of it was occupied in 1967, and that more than six million Palestinians are today subject to the racist Jewish occupation that receives political, military and economic support from the hypocritical, arrogant West that is blind to crimes. The occupation is against our people.

There is no doubt that some of the reactions to the president’s speech constitute an insult not only to the president but also to all of the Palestinian people, because President Abbas is not an ordinary person, but rather a symbol that represents all of his people, whether those who agreed with his policies or those who opposed them. These policies, which in essence are based on respecting international legitimacy and adhering to it, and adopting a peaceful political approach in searching for a way to restore our people’s stolen rights, are the policies that are subjected to harsh criticism from a wide segment of our people, whom the Western policy of complicity with the occupation has made lose their confidence and belief in international legitimacy. He was forced to resort to violence as a means to regain his rights, and he clashed with the president’s refusal to pursue violence and his insistence on adhering to the method of searching for a political solution that would lead to achieving a just peace.

If there is a lesson that we must learn from the insulting reactions to the president’s speech, some of which exceeded all limits of tact and political norms followed in international relations, then two lessons must be pointed out that must be taken into consideration:

The first lesson is that we must understand that whoever wants to work within the framework of international legitimacy and play in the international political arena must stop entering into political minefields and realize that there are sensitive matters on which there is almost international consensus and that it is neither in his interest nor in the interest of his cause. He must not delve into it, but he must not come close to those international postulates so as not to be misunderstood or for his words to be taken inappropriately.

The second lesson, which is the most important, is that we have lost the respect of the international community for us and that there is a new international trend being developed that is trying to deal with us on the basis that we are a social issue, that we are a group of beggars at the gates of countries of the world, that we are corrupt, that have lost institutional legitimacy, that we are chasing money and that we are ready to give up our dignity for it.

We must not be ashamed to admit that our international standing is in continuous decline and that there are people and civil society organizations among us who coordinate with countries and international organizations in promoting the moral assassination of the Palestinian Authority and its symbols, and who do not hesitate to accuse the Authority of corruption, rightly at times and unjustly at other times. The Palestinian Authority, with all its components, must admit that, with its poor performance, it is also contributing to the campaign to distort the image of our people, their leadership, and the justice of their cause.

Everything is old! Old age sometimes loses its prestige and ability to perform well.

If the state of collapse that brought us to the humiliation we have reached and which made the stranger covet us before the relative is not remedied, then peace be upon us and our cause.

If we do not respect ourselves, others will not respect us. The first step towards our self-respect is a bold step towards restoring legitimacy, the legitimacy of institutions and leadership and everyone who claims to be authorized to speak on behalf of this people, and adopting transparency and making room for young energies to take their role in all facilities and joints from the base to the top of the pyramid. All of this through the legitimacy of free, transparent and fair ballot boxes to begin rebuilding the democratic approach that we dreamed of for decades and which we tried to build when the authority was established, but it faltered after its first steps!

Premier calls international community to intervene against killings of Palestinian children

Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh called on international human rights organizations, especially UNICEF, which specializes in protecting children to intervene to stop the daily killings committed by the occupation against our people, the most recent of which is the execution of the child Milad Munther Al-Rai (16 years old) in the Arroub camp north of Hebron.

Shtayyeh said in a statement issued by his office last night, “The innocence of their childhood and the softness of their childhood did not intercede for Milad, like all his fellow martyrs. They were the target of murderous, terrorist criminals, who continue to kill children and break the hearts of their parents and relatives, who are filled with intense sadness over the loss of their pleasures.” their livers, and the fruits of their hearts.”

He added: "Killers derive their continuation of committing their crimes from their feeling of impunity, a feeling that encourages them to repeat their crimes, in a tragic way that we see daily in all the occupied territories."

He continued: "I call on international human rights organizations, especially UNICEF, which specializes in protecting children, to intervene to stop the daily killings committed by perpetrators motivated by killing for the sake of killing."

Demonstration against Netanyahu's government continue

This Saturday evening, protest demonstrations against the government of Benjamin Netanyahu and its plan to weaken the “judicial system” were renewed for the 36th week in a row, days before the start of the Supreme Court sessions to consider petitions against the “Abolishing the Reasonableness Argument” law.

Demonstrations took place in dozens of cities and towns, including Tel Aviv, Haifa, Jerusalem, Rehovot, Kfar Saba, and Herzliya.

Tens of thousands participated in the central demonstration on Kaplan Street in central Tel Aviv. A massive demonstration was also organized at the Horev Junction in Haifa, the Karkur Junction near Pardes Hanna, and the Karmiel Junction.

Next Tuesday, September 12, the Israeli Supreme Court will hold its first session to consider petitions against the law repealing the argument of reasonableness, with a judicial panel that includes all 15 judges of the court, after it rejected several petitions submitted by the government to postpone the session.

Netanyahu's government seeks to make radical amendments to the legal and judicial systems, almost completely eliminating the authority of the Supreme Court for judicial review, and giving the government an automatic majority in the judge selection committee, which a wide segment of Israelis see as "targeting democracy and undermining the judicial system."

Child murdered by Israeli occupation forces in Al-Arroub camp

A Palestinian child was shot dead by Israeli occupation forces this evening in the Al-Arroub refugee camp, in the southern West Bank province of Hebron, according to local and medical sources.

Israeli occupation soldiers fired live ammunition and toxic tear gas canisters at a group of young people and children during a raid into the camp, resulting in the critical injury of Milad Munther Al-Ra'i, 16 years old. Al-Ra'i was rushed to hospital for medical treatment, before he was pronounced dead about an hour later.

Many other Palestinians suffocated from gas inhalation due to the use of toxic tear gas by the Israeli forces.

At least 200 Palestinians have been killed by the Israeli occupation forces so far this year.

This tragic incident once again underscores the excessive use of deadly force by Israeli occupation forces against Palestinian civilians, including children, and raises concerns about the safety and protection of Palestinian residents living under Israeli military occupation.

Agreement between China and Italy to enhance dialogue and cooperation

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni agreed, during her first meeting with her Chinese counterpart Li Qiang, to “strengthen and deepen” the dialogue between Rome and Beijing, her office announced on Saturday.

The meeting came on the sidelines of the G20 summit in New Delhi, in light of growing speculation about the possibility of Italy withdrawing from the Chinese “Belt and Road” initiative, or at least re-evaluating its participation in it.

Italy, which is heavily indebted, is the only one among the G7 countries that joined the trillion-dollar Chinese investment plan in 2019. The agreement between Rome and Beijing will be automatically renewed in March 2024 unless Italy withdraws from it by the end of 2023.

Critics of "Belt and Road", especially Western countries, see this initiative as an economic "Trojan horse" through which Beijing aims to gain political influence.

Meloni's office announced in a statement that Saturday's meeting with Li Qiang "confirmed the common determination to strengthen and deepen the dialogue between Rome and Beijing on fundamental bilateral and international issues."

Next year, the two parties will commemorate the twentieth anniversary of their conclusion of a strategic partnership that will constitute a “beacon for the growth of friendship and cooperation” between them, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office.

Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Taiani, who visited Beijing earlier in September, considered that the initiative "did not achieve the results we had hoped for."

Meloni is likely to make a state visit to Beijing during the next few months, and analysts expect that she will then withdraw from the Chinese initiative, but at the same time with the possibility of strengthening other bilateral agreements between the two countries.

The meeting between Meloni and Chiang came on a day when the United States pushed, during the G20 summit, for an ambitious “corridor” project that would connect India and Europe, via railway and maritime transport lines passing through the Middle East, with a leading role for Saudi Arabia.

An initial agreement was signed on Saturday in New Delhi, between the United States, Saudi Arabia, the Emirates, the European Union, France, Germany, and Italy, according to a statement published by the White House.

Biden launches a huge railway and ports project against China

During the G20 summit, the United States pushed for an ambitious “corridor” project that would connect India and Europe, via railways and maritime transport lines passing through the Middle East, with a leading role for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

An initial agreement was signed on Saturday in New Delhi, between the United States, Saudi Arabia, the Emirates, the European Union, France, Germany, and Italy, according to a statement published by the White House.

Commenting on this signing, the US President said, “It is really important,” speaking about a “historic” agreement during his participation in a symposium that brought together the relevant leaders.

For her part, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stressed that the project is “much bigger than just railways or cables,” referring to “a green and digital bridge between continents and civilizations.”

At the conclusion of the meeting, Joe Biden approached Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, host of the G20 summit, and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, for a group handshake.

A little over a year ago, the 80-year-old Democrat sparked intense controversy when, during his visit to Saudi Arabia, he retreated from his position towards Mohammed bin Salman, whom the United States viewed as the sponsor of the assassination of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

Since then, the United States has intensified its efforts to strengthen relations with the oil kingdom, justifying the matter with its strategic interests.

A document published by the Biden administration regarding the announcement of the grand “corridor” between India and Europe said, “We want to launch a new era connected through a railway network, linking ports in Europe with the Middle East and Asia.”

The goal is to create a “commercial contract,” while “encouraging the development and export of clean energy,” according to the document. The project will also include laying submarine cables.

White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said that the project should also “promote integration in the Middle East,” including among “unlikely partners,” pointing at the same time to Israel and Jordan among the countries concerned.

Joe Biden, keen to leave his diplomatic mark in the region, is trying to persuade Saudi Arabia and Israel to normalize their relations.

However, Sullivan clarified that the agreement on the major infrastructure project, the timetable for which is still unclear, “is not specifically a preparatory signal for normalization.”

With this announcement, the US President is trying to fill the space left vacant by Chinese President Xi Jinping, by not heading to New Delhi to attend the G20 summit, like his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin.

On the other hand, the United States and Europe announced that they are uniting their efforts to support another infrastructure project, this time in Africa. This project is the "Lobito Corridor", which connects the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Zambia through the port of Lobito in Angola.

Michael Kugelman, an expert on South Asia affairs at the Wilson Center in Washington, said on the “X” platform, “If this is achieved, it will change the rules of the game by strengthening ties between India and the Middle East,” adding that this “aims to confront the Belt and Road Initiative.”

Through the Belt and Road Initiative, which comes within the framework of the New Silk Roads programme, Beijing is making huge investments in a number of developing countries to build infrastructure.

This project aims to improve trade relations between Asia, Europe, Africa and even beyond, by building ports, railway networks, airports or industrial complexes, allowing the Asian giant to reach more markets and open new outlets for its companies.

However, his opponents believe that Beijing aims to enhance its political influence, and they also criticize the exorbitant debts that he imposes on poor countries. Joe Biden described it last June as a “debt and confiscation program” that “will not go very far.”

A French diplomatic source pointed out that “within this idea (the new logistics corridor), there is competition with the Silk Roads,” considering that New Delhi’s announcement is “just the beginning of a long story.”

Updated: Death toll of earthquake in Morocco risen to 1,037 people

The death toll from the violent earthquake that struck Morocco on Friday night rose to 1,037 dead and 1,204 injured, including 721 in critical condition, according to the latest official toll announced by the Ministry of the Interior on Saturday.

The Ministry said that "the rescue operation has been continuing since last night," noting that "specialized intervention units consisting of search and rescue teams have been recruited," while health facilities in various affected areas are witnessing comprehensive mobilization to provide the necessary treatments.

The earthquake caused severe damage and panic in Marrakesh and many other cities, according to a new toll issued by the Ministry of the Interior.

The Rabat-based National Center for Scientific and Technical Research stated that the magnitude of the earthquake reached 7 degrees on the Richter scale and that its epicenter was located in the Al Haouz province, southwest of the city of Marrakesh, which is considered a major tourist destination.

The Ministry of Interior said in a statement on Saturday: “As of 10 a.m., 820 deaths and 672 injuries had been recorded, including 205 serious injuries.” A previous toll indicated 632 deaths and 329 injuries.

He explained, "394 deaths were recorded in Al Haouz Province, the epicenter of the earthquake, 271 deaths in Taroudant Province, 91 deaths in Chichaoua, and 13 deaths in Marrakesh."

This is the strongest earthquake to hit Morocco.

The Ministry of Interior indicated that the authorities "have harnessed all means and capabilities to intervene, provide assistance, and assess the damage."

The earthquake caused massive material damage, according to pictures and scenes reported by the local press and social media networks.
Scenes showed the collapse of part of a minaret in the famous Jemaa El Fna Square, which is considered the beating heart of Marrakesh, resulting in two wounded.

An Agence France-Presse correspondent saw hundreds of people flocking to this famous square to spend the night, fearing aftershocks. Some of them brought blankets and covers, while others slept directly on the ground.

Hoda, who lives in the city, told AFP while she was in the square, “We were walking in Jemaa el-Fna when the ground began to shake under our feet. We felt a shock. We are safe, but I am still in shock. At least ten members of my family died in Igokak ( A rural village in Al Haouz.) I can hardly believe it, two days ago I was with them.”

British tourist Mimi Theobald, 25, was preparing to eat desserts on the balcony of a restaurant with her friends, “when the tables started shaking and plates were flying, and we panicked.”

She added, "After that, we tried to return to the hotel to collect our bags and passports because our flight back home is tomorrow, but that was impossible because the hotel is located in the old city. There was rubble spread in the streets and it was not safe. This is the first time he experienced an earthquake. After the level decreased, "In shock, we realized that we were lucky to be alive."

In addition to Marrakesh, residents of Rabat, Casablanca, Agadir and Essaouira felt the earthquake, which sparked a state of panic.
A number of citizens took to the streets of these cities for fear of the collapse of their homes, according to pictures circulated on social media.

Pictures and videos posted by Internet users show the rubble of housing in the alleys of Marrakesh and cars damaged by falling stones.

Frenchman Michael Bizet, 43, who owns three traditional houses in old Marrakesh, told AFP by phone, "I was in my bed when everything started shaking. I felt as if my bed was going to fly. I went out into the street. It was complete chaos. Incredible."

The Regional Center for Blood Transfusion in Marrakesh called on citizens to go to its headquarters on Saturday to donate blood.

There were reactions of condolences to the earthquake victims, proposing aid from France, the United States, Spain, Russia, China, Ukraine, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, the Emirates, Egypt and other countries.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gave "instructions to all governmental bodies and forces to provide all necessary assistance to the Moroccan people," according to a statement issued by his office.

Earlier, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, whose country is hosting the G20 summit in New Delhi, expressed his condolences to the relatives of the earthquake victims. He wrote on the X platform (formerly Twitter): “Very saddened by the loss of lives as a result of the earthquake in Morocco.”

On February 24, 2004, an earthquake measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale struck Al Hoceima Governorate, 400 kilometers northeast of Rabat, resulting in 628 deaths and severe material damage.

On February 29, 1960, a 5.7-magnitude earthquake destroyed the city of Agadir, located on the country's western coast, leaving more than 12,000 dead, or a third of the city's population.

Report: American organizations under the cover of charitable work to finance settlement

The National Office for Land Defense and Settlement Resistance confirmed that there are American organizations that provide financial support for settlement activity in the West Bank under the guise of false charitable work.

In its latest report, which was published at the end of last month, an Israeli human rights association shed new light on the work of American organizations under the guise of charities to provide financial support for the activities of Jewish terrorist organizations that take safe havens from settlement outposts and so-called pastoral farms to protect the occupation army.

The Israeli human rights association “Kerem Naboth” accused the American evangelical organization “Hiophil” of financing the seizure of private Palestinian land in the plain of the village of Jalud, southeast of Nablus, by settlers in the “Esh Kodesh” outpost, bulldozing it, and stealing the red dirt from it, for the benefit of the terrorist “Hill Boys” settlers. .

The "Heophil" organization, which operates as a charitable organization in the United States of America, had launched a campaign to raise funds to plant 3,000 trees until the end of 2022, on Palestinian lands confiscated by the occupation in the West Bank, after recruiting in the last 15 years thousands of volunteers to plant trees in the settlements, and this The American Christian Evangelical Organization is registered in the United States of America as a non-profit organization that provides, as it claims, “service and assistance to agricultural communities in Israel,” which means that all donations to this project are exempt from any tax obligations. According to the people of the village of Jalud, it has seized dozens of dunums south of the village. In cooperation with the settlers, it established its main headquarters, which in fact, as the villagers confirm, is a new settlement outpost.

This "Hiovil" or (Jubilee) organization practices deception in a professional manner. Its logo bears a six-pointed star, and is surrounded on its four sides by various agricultural work tools. This organization is constantly working to recruit evangelical tourists, most of them from the United States, to help the most terrorist settlers in the West Bank. The West began seizing agricultural lands owned by Palestinians on behalf of the settlers, as happened in the village of Burin, in cooperation with settlers from the “Har Bracha” settlement, exploiting the presence of the most extreme right-wing government in Israel to appropriate Palestinian lands in Area C.

The role of this organization did not stop at carrying out attacks and seizing Palestinian lands. It works to implement tourism programs for American tourists, who in turn go to the settlement outposts and the so-called pastoral farms that the settlers established on the lands of Palestinian villages such as Jalud, Qasra, and Burin. They participate with the settlers in seizing tens of dunums and fencing them off. They have settlement outposts, as is the case with the “Esh Kodesh” settlement outpost, which provides a safe haven under the protection of the occupation forces for the “Hill Youth” and “Price Price” terrorist thugs, in clear and clear violation of the law, under the nose and eyes of the Civil Administration and the occupation army, which guards them while they loot property. Palestinians who live about one kilometer away.

The "Heophil" organization is not the only one that supports settlement and settlers. There are many American associations that support settlement by such means, as well as other Australian and European associations that enjoy tax exemption on the basis that they are charities and send hundreds of millions of dollars continuously for various activities in the settlements, and are part of The activities it funds are used to seize the lands of Palestinian citizens.

The donations made by these associations operating in the United States are not new. The Haaretz newspaper had published in December 2015 that private American donors had pumped more than $220 million into Jewish settlements in the West Bank in recent years through exempt donations. Of taxes, in a way that actually supports a policy that American administrations have claimed to oppose for decades.

The report revealed that 50 American organizations made tax-exempt donations from individuals to settlements, and these funds went to purchase real estate and home amenities and to support the families of Jewish extremists convicted of crimes against Palestinians. Among these organizations is the “Central Fund for Israel,” which supports settlement institutions; “Honino,” which provides support to the families of Jewish extremists accused of serious violations that affected the lives and property of Palestinians, and the “Hebron Fund,” which finances settlement projects in Hebron.

This “Honino” organization also claims to be a non-profit organization that also provides legal advice to settlers and right-wing activists. It provided a grant to the family of Ami Poper, who killed seven Palestinian workers in 1990, and it also allocated money to members of the “Bat Ain” cell that attempted to detonate a bomb. In a girls' school in East Jerusalem in 2002, it provides a regular salary to the terrorist Menachem Livni, who was imprisoned in connection with activities in a Jewish terrorist group that carried out attacks against Palestinians.

In addition to these organizations that operate under the guise of charitable organizations, there is the “We Are All Prisoners of Zion” organization, which claims charitable activities, but in reality it is an extension of fascist leaders who these days occupy influential positions in the government of the occupying state. It has been shown that Hanmael Dorfman is the lawyer and right-hand man of the extremist Itamar Ben. Ghafir is the one who registered this association with the competent authorities to make it legal.

Following up on the activity of this organization shows that a group of settlers in the West Bank are the ones who supervise its activities, and some of them have been subjected to investigations for committing attacks against Palestinians. This association provides support to the child killer, Muhammad Abu Khudair, who was martyred on July 2, 2014, and to the killer of the Dawabsha family, who was burned. Settlers in their home on July 31, 2015.

The problem of the Palestinian citizen, who suffers from settlement and seeks to dry up his resources through means of pressure on those who finance him from foreign associations, most of which operate in the United States, is not limited to these associations that claim to be charitable, while in reality they are primarily an extremist right-wing Zionist creation. Rather, it extends To include tourism companies that contribute, through their illegal activities, to encouraging settlers, expanding settlements, and reaping profits from actions that fall within the framework of war crimes.

For example, there are Airbnb, Booking.com, Expedia, and TripAdvisor, which are giant online accommodation and travel booking companies that fuel human rights violations against Palestinians, by listing hundreds of rooms and activities within Existing Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem, and the Israeli government uses the growing tourism sector in the settlements as a means to legalize its presence and expansion, and online accommodation and travel booking companies go along with this scheme.

In a report issued by Amnesty International on January 31, 2019, under the title “Destination: Occupation,” it stated that the company “AirBnB,” based in the United States, has more than 300 places available for reservation in existing settlements on the occupied Palestinian territories. Trip Advisor, also based in the United States, has more than 70 different tourist attractions, tours, restaurants, cafes, hotels, and apartments for rent in existing settlements on the occupied Palestinian territories.

Booking.com, headquartered in the Netherlands, also has lists of 45 hotels and places for rent in existing settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories, and Expedia, headquartered in the United States, has nine providers of accommodation services, including four major hotels in Settlements located on the occupied Palestinian territories.

These and other companies that reap huge profits from encouraging tourism in Israel and its settlements in the West Bank were included by the United Nations Human Rights Council at the end of last year in a blacklist. They are 112 companies, ninety-four of which are Israeli companies, while 18 other companies belong to foreign countries, most of them. It operates in the United States, and it circumvents the boycott laws by claiming, for example, that it will give its profits from tourism in the settlements to charitable organizations, as the company “AirBnB” does under pressure from the Zionist lobby to circumvent the blacklist.

On the other hand, and in the context of accelerating the Judaization processes in the city of Jerusalem, the Minister of Economy and Industry, Nir Barkat, announced the transfer of the ministry and all its branches to the city of Jerusalem, in implementation of the government’s decision to transfer all ministries to the occupied city of Jerusalem, as the occupation government is pushing towards transferring 184 government offices to the city of Jerusalem. Which has begun to take on a Haredi religious character, as right-wing and far-right parties control the facilities of institutions and companies in the city. This comes in implementation of a previous government decision whose implementation is being accelerated under the right-wing, settler, and fascist government.

Meanwhile, the Moshe Leon municipality in Jerusalem decided to publish a tender for the construction of the Halls of Justice in the commercial area of the city entrance by the end of the year, and by the end of 2029 all the courts in Jerusalem except the Supreme Court are expected to be operational from the huge complex that will cover an area of 45 thousand square meters. .

The occupation municipality said that the city will witness a tremendous change in the coming years in a complex of courts of all levels, in the commercial district at the eastern entrance to the city. This huge project is led by the Accountant General in the Ministry of Finance in consultation and planning with the racist Minister of Finance Bezalel Smotrich, and the Office of the Accountant General is currently working on developing The final touches are on writing the tender which is expected to be published by the end of the year. The construction of this court complex is expected to take five years and be completed according to the Ministry of Finance by the end of 2029.

The fascist and extremist right-wing government is also proceeding with its settlement plans with great acceleration. The far-right Minister of Transportation, Miri Regev, after coordination with the West Bank Settlements Council (Yesha), has approved a settlement plan based on constructing a group of strategic settlement security streets that divide the northern West Bank into several sections at a cost. It amounts to one and a half billion shekels, the most important of which is Route 505 (through Samaria) extending from Tel Aviv through Kafr Qasem and then “Ariel” to the Jordan Valley transversely, with the aim of facilitating the right-wing government’s plan to increase the number of settlers and intensify and expand the settlements, reaching one million settlers in the West Bank until the end of the year. The year is 2028, noting that this road is a “highway” from Kafr Qasem to the Zaatara Junction, and it appears that Regev, in agreement with the settlers, is planning to complete the extension of this highway eastward from the Zaatara Junction in the direction of the “Magdolim” settlement, passing through “Ma’ale Ephraim” and arriving at the “Bez’el” settlement ( Fasayil) and the Jordan Valley settlements.

This settlement plan is reminiscent of the map of strategic interests that was put on the agenda of the Israeli government at the end of the 1990s by the Minister of Infrastructure, Ariel Sharon, and Yitzhak Mordechai, the Minister of Defense in the government of Benjamin Netanyahu, after the Hebron Agreement that was signed between the Palestinian and Israeli sides at the beginning of the year 1997, according to According to this map of interests, the West Bank is divided by longitudinal and transverse streets that enable the occupying state to retain its control over about 63% of the area of Palestinian lands in the West Bank.

At the same time, and in the context of legitimizing settlement outposts and transforming them into settlements with all the obligations that arise from that, the Minister of Finance and Minister of Settlement in the Ministry of the Army, Bezalel Smotrich, issued instructions paving the way for strengthening settlement activity in 3 settlements that were originally settlement outposts that were recently legalized by decisions of the current government. The Commander of the Central Region signed an order specifying the scope of the jurisdiction of the settlements of “Asahel” south of Hebron, “Abigail” in Mount Hebron, and “Beit Hogla” in the Jordan Valley, which will enable them to be settled legally.

The government headed by Netanyahu and Minister Smotrich agreed to build the three settlements, and after signing the decree, Smotrich said: “Great things are happening in the settlements and the government is working to promote a right-wing, Zionist and nationalist policy that sees the development of settlement in the West Bank as a gain for the state.”

As part of its settlement plans, the Civil Administration is pushing forward with 22 plans to establish solar energy production plants in Area C in the West Bank. It plans to build a facility to produce electricity with solar energy, the production capacity of which is the largest of all solar energy facilities in the occupying state, and the occupation authorities aspire to these plans. To transform solar energy into an important economic branch in the settlements, and the fruits of this step will be reaped by, among other parties, the settlements located in the Jordan Valley, where it is planned to establish the largest facility.

According to the plan that was approved two weeks ago, the largest solar station will be built on agricultural lands in the “Nama” settlement, north of the city of Jericho (2.5 km away), which is one of the agricultural settlements that was established on lands with an area of 425 dunums. It is expected that the new solar facility will provide the settlements with a great economic benefit by providing alternative energy.

The head of the Regional Council for the Jordan Valley Settlements, David Al-Hayani, and the new head of the Civil Administration, Fares Atilla, blessed the approval of the establishment of the facility as one of the very important projects that the Civil Administration recently promoted.

At a time when the occupation authorities are expanding their Judaization settlement project forward with bids to build thousands of housing units for settlers and structural plans for building new settlements, expanding existing settlements, and constructing more roads and bypass streets to serve the settlers and facilitate their movement, they are expanding the demolition of Palestinian homes and facilities in The West Bank, including Jerusalem Governorate, in accordance with the policy advocated by both Smotrich and Ben Gvir, began a massive demolition operation in Anata in order to expand the main street leading to the town of Al-Zayyim and the city of Jericho, which is used by settlers to facilitate their movement through this street to the “Antot” and “Antot” settlements. Kfar Adumim and Pisgat Zeev. The demolition included nine commercial stores located at the northern entrance to the town of Anata, and the Al-Baqaan area inside the town, where a modern house about to be occupied was demolished, costing more than a million shekels, in addition to the demolition of a sheep farm and barracks, under the pretext of These establishments, farms, and houses are adjacent to the apartheid wall, as the occupation authorities prevent construction within 150 meters of the wall. The demolition process also affected the Ghaith family hall and office in Anata, without receiving notifications or prior notification before starting the demolition, given that there are orders to demolish all Something close to the wall.

Last week, the occupation forces distributed dozens of notices to demolish agricultural and residential facilities in the village of Duma in the Nablus Governorate, a village that was subjected in July 2015 to a brutal terrorist act by settlers, in which a number of members of the Dawabshe family were burned to death.

The number of notifications reached 50 demolition and removal orders, the majority of which were in the eastern area of the village, under the pretext that the area is classified as C according to the Oslo Accords and is located in an area that the occupation forces claim is “state property.” The demolition notices included stone chains, water lines, and electricity lines. They uprooted olive trees, mobile agricultural rooms, barracks built of tin, and three residential houses.

The occupation forces demand that the people of Duma return everything to its previous state in those lands whose owners were handed demolition and removal orders, and gave them 45 days to remove and demolish them.

The occupation authorities also notified the cessation of work and construction on a large number of homes, facilities and agricultural roads in the town of Qarawat Bani Hassan in Salfit Governorate in the western and north-south region of the town.

The notifications were distributed among houses under construction, a garbage dump, agricultural rooms, and two streets, and included 18 notifications in the western region, Al-Uqda, and Khallet Abu Zeid, three notifications in the northern head, and two notifications in the eastern region called “Al-Midan,” under the pretext of its presence in areas classified as (C).

What is this American recklessness and contradictory positions?

Al Quds op-ed

Al Quds op-ed

The United States does not stop its blind bias towards Israel and defending and justifying what it wants. At the same time, any statement by a Palestinian official turns, in their blind view, into anti-Semitism and unreasonable and undesirable extremism. The examples are many and varied, the most recent of which is describing a speech by President Abu Mazen as hateful and demanding that he apologize immediately. At the same time, Nabil Abu Rudeina, the official spokesman for the National Authority, confirms that what was published are mere quotes and is not considered a denial in any way of the Nazi Holocaust against the Jews at all.

According to a British media network, President Abu Mazen had demanded, in the event of a tripartite agreement including the United States, Saudi Arabia and Israel, more Palestinian political and security control over the West Bank and a financial increase of millions of dollars to support the Authority.

These are clear positions and statements, and there is no reason for the American administration to describe this speech as hateful and demand an immediate apology for it.

One of the most prominent manifestations of American political recklessness these days is that it is known that the Israeli Minister of Transportation approved the construction of a road network to transform the West Bank into cantons with the aim of facilitating the extremist plans of this government and the Minister to increase the number of settlers and expand the settlements to reach nearly a million settlers in the West Bank, and Washington does not say a word. Criticism or rejection of this Israeli expansionist step.

It should also be noted that a store was demolished and notices were issued targeting three homes in Silwan in Jerusalem. What is even worse is that a group of settlers stormed the Bab al-Rahma prayer hall in Jerusalem and wreaked havoc and looting on it. Some of them also performed religious rituals outside of it. We did not hear any criticism or condemnation of these practices and they continued. Washington is silent as graves regarding this, and when it spoke about the Palestinian demands presented in the Riyadh talks, it stressed that they are difficult demands, not easy to implement, and suggested to the National Authority that it present more reasonable proposals, that is, agreeing to settlement, establishing settlements, confiscating the land, and displacing its people.

The saying is true, “Those who are ashamed are dead,” and here is a politically blind Washington that only sees what is in the interest of Israel and its followers, and that the Arabs, with all their money, capabilities, and dangerous geographical locations, deserve nothing but recklessness and ignoring, except for what is related to the plundering of this money and the advantages for their benefits.

What Washington does not realize currently is that this situation cannot continue, that zero hour is coming, and that rights will only belong to those who hold them.

Between the bullet and the bare chest

Bakr Abu Bakr

The current popular revolution or popular resistance in Palestine, with its young field leaders, represents the persistent and effective mass practice to confront colonial policies and the colonial project as a whole by occupying the land and displacing the people. It is a revolution that is working to find its mature and best path that we believe it should reach.

It is understood that the revolution and popular resistance work as a whole only within a comprehensive national vision with clear goals, and through expanded systematic activities (geographically, segmentally, and temporally) to dismantle the colonial project.

The basis for the struggle is Palestine only, and it was not a private or public organization at all. Palestine is the goal and the compass, and its liberation determines the strategy and path. Gathering forces and achieving a difficult balance is a basic entrance.

Therefore, activating or escalating the existing mass revolution or resistance, albeit with minimal limits, against the occupation, against settler terrorism, and against extremist terrorism in Jerusalem, which must be specific and commensurate with the regional and international situation, and be consistent with the ability of the Palestinian people and the masses and the sustainability of their action.

Let us try to draw a shape that is consistent with the equation of ability and possibility and the most appropriate and capable of achieving the goal.

•The revolution, struggle, or resistance in the general sense is most popular among Palestinians in the line of fire and those who are also in the line of waiting for return abroad.

•But this is not how revolutions are, which if they do not rely on reason and trust (a theory, a clear goal, and a comprehensive work) will retreat.

•If it does not understand the level of strength, it will be helpless and retreat, and perhaps  it will despair and be disappointed.

•And if the revolutionary leadership could not calculate the positions of its feet, its legs betrayed it
•If it is not united, its voice, or rather its voices, will be lost in the wilderness.

•And if it is unable or does not make an effort through conceptual unity to mobilize the entire masses towards the political goal, it will fail, stagnate, or become captive to slogans that are contradicted by action.

The individual armed action by some guerrillas, or by revolutionary youth, or by new formations that are not mobilized, not politicized, not trained, and not linked to a clear method of action and strategy, and in light of the situation in which the factions are, with their fragmentation, showmanship, arguments, and quarrels, and in light of the situation of the Palestinian people, dispersed between social and economic and patriotism, and in light of the ferocity of the terrorist occupation act and its technology (violent espionage technology), it is a difficult situation to the point of being impossible to achieve victory, which requires review, criticism, dialogue, and clarification of the theoretical-intellectual path as a prelude to navigating the establishment of methods leading to achieving victory.

We all remember many examples from contemporary history of the success of popular or peaceful resistance in achieving its goals. Do we Palestinians have that vision and strategy for the concept and philosophy of revolution against the occupation in light of the current situation, or the concept of resisting the occupation within the framework of a long-term popular revolution or long-term popular resistance? In the peaceful public sense?
The fact that young field action leaders have a clear vision and goal for the new revolution or new resistance requires developing a calm strategy, with clear expected results, that is, a clear final goal of what we want to achieve in terms of political gains.

The vision must be consistent with the official media movement, the Arab and regional movement, and with the image of Palestine and the cause that we seek globally, in accordance with the reality of the struggle of the narrative and the legal and political struggle in the corridors of global parliaments and in the United Nations.
The (new) popular revolution or mass popular resistance with young hands and arms represents another and different concept from guerrilla military action, which in experience was nationally supported by a unified plan and leadership, and had a depth of extension from at least one country in the ocean, as it was before.

The reality today is darker and more difficult in the field than at the beginning of the start of the Palestinian revolution and then its deepening, as we see the weakness, impotence and fighting of the political forces, whether internal or external. We see wavering public support for some methods of confronting the terrorism and occupation of the deadly controlling power. Therefore, the Great Intifada, then the Second Intifada (in 2000 AD), and then the movements and uprisings that followed in Jerusalem and the West Bank were creative forms in the field that could be built upon.

The idea of peaceful popular resistance became more and more established (since 2005 AD) until it was approved by all factions in their virtual meeting with the president in 2020 AD, and this dramatic transformation was for the following reasons.

1- The practices of the Zionist-American terrorist military and security raid force used to crush a revolution, or revolutions, uprisings and movements of the Palestinian people, without any Arab or international deterrent.

2- The lack of equality of power when bare chests and exposed backs confront the Israeli artillery, brutality and terrorism.

3- The Arab countries surrounding “Israel” are linked to peace/settlement agreements, or truce agreements, and thus there is a lack of real official support for any Palestinian military resistance (or even an ongoing field confrontation).

4- The lack of geographical depth for any armed resistance against the Israeli occupation in the West Bank or the Gaza Strip. (The experiences of the eight aggressions (from 2006 onwards) on the Gaza Strip provide a model for the outcome of the situation.)

5- The enormous technical capabilities possessed by the occupation and its industrial capabilities in confronting the Palestinian people, instead of its internal security penetration.

6- The weakness and fragmentation of official and factional Palestinian efforts following the bloody coup by the Hamas faction in 2007, the growing lust for power and authority, and the eradication of the other.

7- The occupation’s control, with open American support, over the Arab environment (our Arab back) through normalization agreements (Trump-Abraham Accords).
