Trump conditions expanded military strikes on Iran's seriousness in negotiations

US President Donald Trump affirmed that he has not yet settled on a final decision to expand the scope of military strikes targeting Iranian objectives. Trump explained in press statements from the Oval Office that the American administration is closely monitoring Iranian behavior, indicating that Tehran has begun to show increasing signs of seriousness in the diplomatic talks currently underway with Washington.

These statements come at a time when press reports have revealed that the White House is studying a comprehensive military plan aimed at resuming expanded combat operations. According to informed sources, these operations may exceed in intensity what was previously known as 'Operation Epic Fury,' with these sources quoting Trump as saying that the Iranian side has not felt enough pain to fully change its behavior.

Despite hinting at the military option, the US President stressed that communication channels remain open with the Iranian side at present. Trump considered that the pressures exerted have begun to bear fruit, which explains the gradual change in Tehran's negotiating position, emphasizing that the coming days will be decisive in determining the path the American administration will take.

In contrast, the Iranian response was swift and firm through high-level military statements vowing to retaliate for any human losses. Ali Abdollahi, a leader in the Revolutionary Guard, announced a new field equation stipulating targeting an American soldier for every Iranian who falls in the ongoing attacks, considering that this principle will guide their movements in the next phase.

For nearly two weeks, the region has witnessed unprecedented field escalation, with US forces launching successive waves of airstrikes on strategic sites within Iranian territory. This decision followed a series of mysterious attacks targeting oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, attacks for which Washington held Tehran and its military apparatus directly responsible.

The United States adheres to clear demands regarding the necessity of ensuring freedom of international navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and stopping any threats to commercial vessels. Washington believes that Iranian behavior in vital waterways poses a direct threat to the global economy and energy security, which requires a firm response to deter any attempts to disrupt trade.

For its part, Tehran insists on imposing its own regulatory mechanism for ships to pass through the waterway overlooking its coasts, rejecting what it describes as external interference in its maritime sovereignty.
