Officer and Settler Killed in Shooting Operation in Tal Town West of Nablus

Media sources reported an increase in the death toll among the Israeli occupation forces to two, as a result of a qualitative shooting operation that targeted them in the town of Tal in Nablus Governorate, north of the West Bank. This announcement came after one of the injured succumbed to his severe wounds sustained during the clash, while a state of confusion prevailed among the forces present in the area.

Field reports revealed that the second fatality in the operation was a major-ranked officer in the occupation army, who held the position of company commander that rushed to the site to deal with the incident. Sources clarified that the officer was directly hit while attempting to control the situation after clashes erupted in the vicinity of the 'Havat Gilad' settlement outpost established on citizens' lands west of Nablus.

Regarding the details of the operation, Palestinian sources stated that a young man managed to seize a weapon from one of the settlers during the residents' confrontation of an incursion targeting the village of Tal. After gaining control of the weapon, the young man opened fire at a group of settlers and security personnel, initially resulting in four people sustaining injuries of varying severity before two of them were later announced dead.

Following the operation, the occupation army deployed large military reinforcements to the vicinity of Nablus, imposing a strict security cordon on the town of Tal and its surrounding villages. Occupation forces also closed a number of checkpoints and main entrances connecting the governorate to other West Bank cities, causing severe traffic congestion and a complete disruption of the movement of Palestinian citizens in the area.

Occupation forces began carrying out widespread search operations, including raiding and meticulously searching dozens of homes, coinciding with subjecting vehicles and passersby to strict security checks. These repressive measures come amidst escalating field tensions in Nablus Governorate, where the occupation continues to pursue the perpetrators amid sporadic clashes with youths in several areas.

The second fatality in the Tal town incident is a major-ranked officer in the army, who holds the position of company commander that arrived at the site.
